No one in their right mind would invade Russia. Why? No country would agree to it. NATO is only activated when article 5 is triggered. It is a defensive alliance.

@Crokey Russia was heavily involved in Syria before the U.S. went there. And Russia unleashed gas attacks on civilians there as well. Afghanistan was invaded because they harbored the terrorists from 9/11 and then would not cooperate with the U.S. Iraq had invaded Kuwait, and then would not cooperate with the U.N. inspectors. Libya also acted in conjunction with terrorists on attacks against civilians. Now, you will notice, the U.S. has no presence in those countries. They are all s**t holes in any case. Do some research next time you throw out nonsense like that. Oh, and Afghanistan was also attacked by the USSR. Do you really think anyone wants to invade Russia? Aside from the fact that no one would agree to such an idiotic undertaking, what is there to gain? Hitler and Napoleon were both dictators who orchestrated those invasions. Democracies would not do that. The only dictator around now seems to be Putin. Finally, what 3rd invasion are you referring to? The allied expeditionary force that landed at Archangel during the Russian Civil War? Not much of an invasion.

@preyhunter4179 Actually, that has been done. Britain annexed Iceland, and Persia during WW2. It of course was not permanent, especially since at the time, Iceland was part of Norway. But, we didn't starve them to death or commit genocide on the population.
