2 simple reasons as to why we suck at talking about AA 1. If you talk about AA and race, your skin color will come into question, depending who You discuss with, it can vary a lot. You can have all sorts of opinions even if you have done the research. But if your skin is a light shade, again, depending on who you discuss it will risk getting shut down by accusations of being privliged, even if you came from a working class background. It should be talked about. We need to speak our minds to remove the fears and stigma attached to it. 2. Affirmative Action still favors minorities. Even minorities who may have higher grades. Minorities like blacks and Latinos. That's favor of outcome, rather than favor of opportunity. How is that even fair to white students, even Asian students who may be in mutiple academic clubs but academic clubs of predominantly or exclusively made up of minorities will have that slight advantage? And Asians and Affirmative Action? Well, its almost like Asians aren't even a minority at all. They tend to do better in test scores and overall outshine whites academically. They're doing better despite being discriminated against.
