  3. The big bomb being dropped by the Lancaster is an 8000 pound High Capacity "Double Cookie". The smaller stuff is incendiaries. The idea was that a Cookie would reduce a block of buildings to kindling, which were set alight by the firebombs, cooking their occupants.

  4. The so called "Army Zero" was the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa, known to the Allies as the "Oscar". There was a close resemblance between the two and in the heat of combat it was easy to mistake the two.
