I was a career Armor Officer in the US Army and the best description of the ideal tank gunnery engagement was described to us by our chief gunnery instructor when I was in the Officer Basic Course - "A shot up the ass of the last tank in the column while everybody is looking the other way"

  2. Just like the complaints about RAF Bomber Command being "too brutal" and "inhuman" in WW2. The criticism seems to be they were too good at it.
