Please allow an old tanker to point out that this not the configuration that would be found inside a tank turret as a coaxial machine gun. A coax would have a solenoid attached to the gun either behind or beneath the manual trigger that hooked into an electrical lead going back to the gunner's trigger on his Cadillac Handles (manufactured by Cadillac Gage, not GM) controlling traverse and elevation. The gunner would flip a switch to select either the main gun or coax, and squeezing the trigger would complete the circuit to make the solenoid plunger move, contact the trigger and cause the gun to fire. The gunner was seated on the right side of the main gun while the coax was to the left so there was no way he could reach a manual trigger. In case of a misfire the loader could try firing manually (I'd just recharge the gun and go). http://ww3.rediscov.com/springar/full/407-60.1.jpghttp://ww3.rediscov.com/springar/full/406-60.B.1.jpg
