" I was told my whole life I had to go to college to be successful but it ended up screwing me over" You are not the only one. "About 40 percent of recent college graduates were underemployed in the United States, as of late 2022."

"After W. W II with the development of suburbia and a burgeoning middle class, their children went off to college and indeed bettered their own lives." Even in the 60s, college graduates were only less than 10% of the US adult population (22+). Now, 37% are college graduates but the most recent ones end up in underployment for 40% of them, many as burger flippers.😂

@dmo7815 Go tell that to millions of single mothers in the USA. It's a way of life.

Single mother, of course. It is USA.😂

Focus on the rise in poverty in the USA, the "richest" country in the world.😂

"own a very nice home in the midwest. Own 2 cars and an older truck." "We used to be middle class" are contradictory.😂

37% profit by selling in less than 3 years.

"I bought 5 years ago and my property taxes haven't noticeably changed from the first payment even though my house is worth almost double."😂 The price increase of real estate or rent isn't counted in "inflation", which is always much lower than the actual cost of living. Official inflation is a scam.

@Gretchen K. Of course, and their number increases month after month.

"In 2022, the proportion of households which are occupied by owners stood at 65.9 percent."

@ThePTRichie Inflation is not real increase in cost of living, as your calculation shows.

@NoNORADon911 The Fed Reserve keeps the US federal budget afloat, while private banks keep the consumer budget aflloat.

The US median annual salary is $56,420. 50% earn less, and 50% earn more.

The slippery slope.

You have to own one.

You can't get a 30% pay increase and be at "the bottom of the totum pole". Changing jobs usually means professional advancement as well.
1
@mackakiwinz4353 Yes, but Americans spend borrowed money, almost all their lives.😂

Property owners usually practice rent hikes at such a level that they are affordable only by a few. Your case may be different, though.
