  1. Growing up in a 3rd world country, me and my brother had one small themed Lego set each for our entire childhood (a space one and a tribal one) in the 90s. Because it was prohibitively expensive (around $100+ now). We used to have a Lego brochure and just sigh at the ones we wanted. That said, as an adult, it makes me appreciate dad more for buying them, knowing now how much they actually cut into the family budget. But they were our most favorite toys growing up.
