  1. CORRECTION: resin is NOT tree sap. Sap are the "blood" of the tree. They carry nutrients. Resin, on the other hand, does not, and is a purely protective liquid used by the tree to seal wounds and kill unwanted insects.

  2.  @aethiluvatar  It's an explanation of types of fossils. Amber is from resin, not tree sap. There's a time to simplify, and a time to be scientifically accurate. This is the latter. Calling resin "tree sap" is like calling earwax "blood."
