  2. Not really. Oh and before I forget, to address the "uplift my own ego" thing, look at my name. I'm not posting under a real one, am I? If I were concerned about being seen as "smart", I would post under my real name and make sure everyone knows my credentials. I'm correcting for the sake of accuracy, so people like you don't repeat it. Believe it or not, it's not a "small mistake". Show this to anyone with a biology background, and they'll notice it too. As you said, it's an educational video. I'd understand if this was on "Top 10 Kewl Facts About Sea Monsters", but it's not. It's on National Geographic. Not National Geographic Kids either. The National Geographic. More prestigious, higher standards. I'd rather they stay that way.

  3. @Garret I have a feeling you're talking more about yourself than me. There was nothing condescending in my first comment, or in my reply to you. I simply stated a correction. I didn't call anyone idiots, neither is there any trace of sarcasm (and I very much enjoyed the video). The same can't be said for you and Xi-K. A mistake is a mistake. And browsing the comments, at least one other commenter has also noticed the "genus Plesiosauria" mistake. Along with other mistakes like how Plesiosauria very likely had tail fins from what soft tissue fossils we know of them. As well as the fact that they showed a clip of a damselfly, not a dragonfly (which despite their similarities are two very ancient palaeopteran lineages that diverged from each other around 271 million years ago). Correcting mistakes is a proud tradition of the scientific method. The mentality of being afraid to correct authority for fear of "insulting" them does not belong in the academia.

  5. P.S. I'm only in my thirties. I didn't delete my reply to you. I merely edited it because I realized after I wrote it that I sound very much like the conceited smartpants that you already thought I was. LMAO. I am smart. ;) Not "super" smart, but smart enough on this subject matter that I caught the mistake. I am not a layman. Same probably goes with the people who upvoted me and one other guy (@Daniel Federico), whom judging from his avatar, also knows his paleontology.
