  2.  @K162KingPin  Yes they can garnish your wages, if they get a court judgment first. Only a private bank will put it on your credit report. The federal government does not do that. And if they do put it on your credit report and it falls off in seven years, they have the right to put it on again and keep putting it on until they are paid.

  5. The United States file a lawsuit against you in federal district court. When they win, the judge enters a judgment ordering you to pay it (all immediately due). Then the justice department puts a lien against your home and other property. They can garnish your wages to collect the judgment. If you ever need to go back to school, you can forget getting any help from anybody. You are disqualified from some other federal programs that would help you buy a house. At the final judgment, Jesus decides whether you were right or wrong in not paying your obligations.
