However, Hitler miscalculated. What he took to be "a sign of weakness" was not really a sign of weakness.

@walterp.chrysler None of that has anything at all to do with whether making a compromise is a sign of weakness or not. England could have been 10 times stronger than Germany and decided to make the same deal. Would it be a sign of weakness then? The North Korean government thinks that Americans are emotionally weak because we did not use our nukes on North Korea when we were there. That is just how dictators think. They think everyone else is playing the same game they are and is also out to takeover everything. Everything to them is a contest or challenge and if you do not slit their throat when you have the chance, they consider you weak. Compassion is a sign of weakness. Being understanding is a sign of weakness. Loving your wife and children is a sign of weakness. Not wanting your country destroyed is a sign of weakness. Not wanting your son to go to war is a sign of weakness. Thinking that fighting is immature is a sign of weakness . . .

@walterp.chrysler Not necessarily. Why would you stand up and take a stand against some bully that is beating up a family 3 houses down the street from you? That is not a sign of weakness -- it is not getting involved in someone else's business. It is only a sign of weakness (or cowardice -- whichever) when you do not defend your own family. The United States stayed out of the war for 2 years because it was not their business. Minding their own business was a sign of weakness? Or a sign of not wanting to get involved in someone else's foreign war?

@walterp.chrysler What does any of that have to do with France and UK signing a treaty being a sign of weakness?

@walterp.chrysler He said Ukraine is not an actual nation and does not have a right to exist. What does any of that have to do with UK and France signing a treaty being a sign of weakness?

@walterp.chrysler What does any of that have to do with UK and France making a compromise with Germany being a sign of weakness?

@walterp.chrysler So when you are too stupid to realize that what you said was wrong, the other guy is a troll? 🤔

@walterp.chrysler You failed to explain anything because all of your "explainations" were off-topic. This is the topic: Making a concession to somebody is not a sign of weakness. Adolf Hitler imagined in his own mind that it was a sign of weakness and acted according to his imagination. I pointed out your error way at the very first.

@walterp.chrysler You have a mistake in the first sentence. They did not trade off territory in order to go not go to war. This seems to be the mistake of your arguement. Your are creating what we call in logic a "false dilemma." Neither France of UK had any intentions at all of going to war with Germany. They made a concession to Germany and that was not a "sign of weakness." Trying to prevent war in Czech and save lives is not a sign of weakness -- it is caring about people.

@walterp.chrysler You keep changing the subject over and over and over. This is the topic: Making a concession to someone, hoping to achieve a peaceful resolution to a disagreement, is not a sign of weakness.

The West does not do propaganda. Propaganda comes from communist governments and only communist governments.
