@leesweather9894 How do you define "dependent"? Socialism is when the government does everything for you. The government owns the doctor's clinics and hospitals and pays the doctor's paycheck and so on. The government owns the electricity company, the phone company, the internet. The government owns the construction crews who come in and repair your house and the government owns your insurance company. And all of the technicians work for the government. There is not much private ownership and the free-market competition is stifled. Our public school systems are socialism. But that is about it. The rest of what we do is free-market. We are FAR from socialism.
