  11.  @beneck3060  SVB did not have any bad loans. 2008 they were subprime loans given to mortgagers who had low credit ratings but were paying their loans. When the housing market crashed (2007) some people became unable to pay their mortgages. A bad loan is not written off until every possible avenue to collect on the loan has been exhausted and the house is sold at auction. Then only the uncollectable part of the loan is written off. These are low amounts and banks employ interest rate management and risk management techniques to keep them at a minimum. However none of this is what OP is talking about. My comment addresses the comment above it and that comment addresses the video. China does not have YEARS of experience in risk management and they have gotten themselves over their head in debt. The banks in question have MULTIPLE MILLIONS of GOOD LOANS and the person is saying that it is too much for the Chinese people, businesses, and government entities to pay. So the person is saying that the bank should just eat all of those good loans. I have heard this from other Chinese commenters also. I was explaining to the Chinese person that a bank cannot possibly just write off millions in good loans.

The reason Huawei is sanctioned is because the fascist communist Chinese party is building a database of every single person in the world. It is more than likely that the Chinese have your face, your address, your email, your phone number and every personal detail that you have ever posted on the internet in their giant database now. Can you explain why the Chinese government needs to know your favorite food? 🍔🍟🥤 They have artificial intelligence software that can pick you out of a crowd walking through a train station through facial recognition. If they are looking for you for any reason and you happen to stand in front of one of their cameras, they have you. They have another database that is collecting the genome of every person in the world. Did you know that if you drive an electric car in China with smart tracking software, the Chinese government is constantly tracking your car and knows exactly where to find you at any time because they are following you around? People who know about this wonder why China needs this capability and the only reasonable answer is that they are planning to rule the whole world with an iron fist someday. This is James Bond evil-nemesis take over and rule the world stuff. Only it is not a movie -- it is happening in real life. Huawei has not specifically been implicated in this scheme. But the phone and 5g wifi equipment are banned because they have the potential of doing personal data collection and sending it back to China. And if the Chinese government requests Huawei to do spying, according to Chinese law, Huawei must comply. The advanced chips are banned because they can be used in advanced military equipment. Ha! And you think the United States is the "mad dog!" 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♂️ (I am not surprised at all that your Chinese friends are not aware that their government is doing this.)

These projects of ours for the future are mainly waiting on AI development and they will be online shortly after that. Also we can beat them in war with what we have now. He could have left development projects out of the video and the result would be the same. Lasers require so much power that the smaller ships and planes that China mostly uses may not be able to power them. Our lasers are already installed on ships and currently operating. We have laser pods that hang under the F-35s but they are HUGE and to me do not look practical. But we have them currently installed on ships and are retrofitting everything. China has none. The United States is the number 2 manufacturer in the world and 10% of our manufacturing is military. We can keep up with their military production. They have stuff on the drawing board . . we have stuff on the drawing board. For a very long time the relative positions will remain the same. The only real advantage China has is they can do it cheaper. But they may not be able to scale up because their economy is collapsing and their government is broke. (And nothing they produce on their own ever works right anyway. 🤷‍♂️).

All homeless people in the United States automatically qualify for $214 a month in food stamps from the federal government. They also stand on the street corner and collect money from passing motorists. 45 minutes on any corner will get you a hamburger, 🍔 french fries, 🍟 and a Coke.🥤 Other homeless people collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles from the trash and return them for the deposit money. There are also food banks, homeless cafeterias, and local churches hand out sack lunches daily. The only possible way to go hungry in the United States is to keep it a secret and not let anyone know. If you tell anybody that you need a meal, SOMEBODY is going to feed you. That is also true of Canada, Mexico, and Central America -- it is an American thing. You should not look at a few pictures and then think you know everything. (That ain't how it works.)

But the president is commander-in-chief of the entire military and can order the military into a combat situation for 90 days without a declaration of war. What you fail to consider is that we war game all potential scenarios well before they happen. All branches of government are in high-level communication with all other branches and in on the high security meetings. It is already decided how we will respond and there is already a response plan written out. If China attacks Taiwan the president will give the order and we will be on top of them in less than 24 hours. The island of Taiwan is literally covered with F-16 fighter jets owned by the Taiwanese. Taiwan also has drones that they have designed and built themselves for a specific purpose.
