They did not do it. This is a Vietnamese tanker that Iran stole from Vietnam last month and the American military did not attempt to board this tanker.

Use your brain. 🧠 Have you seen any photographs at all showing TWO tankers in the same photogragh??? 🤷‍♂️ Iran released some photographs that they took that day. Look in the pictures. WHERE IS THE SECOND TANKER? Iran stole the tanker and made up a cover story to blame it on the United States. Also there is nothing "irrational" about nuclear disarmament. If everyone keeps building more weapons we will ALL be destroyed. The whole United Nations wants Iran to stop their nuclear development -- it is not just the United States. What do you think will happen if Iran fires 10 nuclear missiles at Israel and Israel fires 10 nuclear missiles back? Nuclear proliferation must STOP!!

@ShahabMobini I was not talking about U.S. photos. I was talking about Iranian photos. Look at the Iranian photos and see if there are two tankers. If the Iranian government is telling the truth, you will see 2 tankers in the Iranian released photos. The United States would LOVE to close down our military. Operating it is a great burden. Our families lose their sons daily and the taxes to support it is high. But we have many enemies -- so we need a strong military. We are constantly in negotiations with Russia and China to make treaties that will allow us to destroy our nuclear arsenal. The world is not going to run out of oil for at least 200 years. I support you in peaceful use of energy and peaceful life and farming practices. But I have to tell you that all around the world no one believes that your government leaders have peaceful purposes in mind. The rockets that Gaza fired into Israel 2 months ago were made in Iran. People do not trust your government to be peaceful or tell the truth about things . . . and I have no answer for that. Your government needs to work on earning the trust of the rest of the world. I do not think Israel is a threat at all. Israel is surrounded on all sides and outnumbered 10 to 1 by Arab nations -- what can they do? What Israel wants is the original borders that they had back in the days of King David. When they get that, they will stop complaining.

@hmid4358 Iran released pictures of the incident. Go look at the pictures and tell me if you see one tanker or two tankers. If you only see one tanker in the pictures, it did not happen.

Point of clarification: The United Nations put sanctions on Iran in 2006 over nuclear proliferation. Those sanctions were lifted in 2016 in exchange for a non-proliferation treaty with Iran. In 2018, the United States withdrew from the non-proliferation treaty and placed their own sanctions on Iran. Currently, the United Nations has a non-proliferation treaty with Iran and the United States has sanctions on Iran.
