There is no "blockade."
2
Communist revolution is responsible.
2
The United States is not "strangulating" Cuba's economy. Cuba is free to trade with the whole world. And they have the capability to grow all of their own food. Where is China with their belt and road tricks?
2
Wrong.
1
@noellecelnik4347 U.S. sanctions do not keep Cuba from trading with the rest of the world.
1
Russia has been giving Cuba an allowance to live on since the communist revolution.
1
@noellecelnik4347 I am sorry. But your information is incorrect. We do not block anyone else from trading with Cuba. Only Americans. The fact is that the communist government nationalized all privately-owned businesses, including 3 oil refineries belonging to American companies and those oil refineries are stolen property. We do block anyone from buying the stolen oil and that is all.
1
Yes. And it so interesting that somebody can be driving around in a 1956 classic car worth $50,000 and not have money for milk.
1
@handsomeman-pm9vy Obviously. 😅
1
Yeah. Right. The country with the largest GDP in the world is "mismanaged." Yeah. Right.
1
You do have a magic wand. It is called prayer and repentance from sin. When people stop sinning, everything will get better.
1
It isn't.
1
We did not sanction Cuba until the communist government nationalized (stole) all of the American-owned businesses including a couple of oil refineries. How are you going to "work with" a country that steals all of your property and does not allow any private companies to operate in their country???
1
@user-mj4pl2ky1d Actually, the opposite is true. If we opened cross-border trading with Cuba and American corporations invested in Cuba, we would make billions of dollars. But that would not even be possible because Cuba has a communist government and communism prohibits any private property ownership.
1
@marshalljulie3676 "What hostilities has Cuba done to Americans"? In 1961, the communist Cuban government nationalized all private businesses and many of those businesses were American-owned businesses, including 3 oil refineries. Cuba will remain under sanctions until their government returns our stolen property. You are definitely the one who is "clueless" or you would not have had to ask the question.
1
Wrong. They would still have a failed communist government.
1
Let us pretend that the communist government did not nationalize all of the privately owned businesses in Cuba . . .
1
Sanctions are not illegal.
1
After the Cuban government nationalized all of the private businesses in Cuba, no investor will ever invest in Cuba again whether they go capitalist or not. They are done.
1
Their is no "blockage of Cuba."
1
Russia is in Asia.
1
They said that communism is self-supporting without any need for capitalist dollars . . .
1
No we don't.
1
Lifting sanctions will not help.
1
@popdanish4969 No it won't.
1
We have not been trying "to topple Cuba." That is the responsibility of the Cuban people.
1
No the the U.S. sanctions are not "illegal." I take it you are a Democrat? Democrats always claim that laws exists when they do not. They make up laws out of thin air instead of using the written laws. How stupid!
1
No.
1
Traditionally Cuba gets all of its aid from Russia. Maybe they failed to ask China for solar panels. Of course China never does anything for free. They will want a port in Havana or something.
1
@umbrellastudio7481 Excuse me. The United States does not care if China invests in Cuba. In fact, we would prefer that all Cubans have solar panels if they need them and we do not care where they get them. However, China will never invest in Cuba because China only does things that help China and Cuba has nothing to offer to anybody. Cuba could not become "Singapore" or any other pore because Cuba is communist and after their communist revolution the Cuban government nationalized all businesses in Cuba, including all foreign-owned businesses. Privately-owned businesses are not allowed to invest or operate in Cuba.
1
@marshalljulie3676 No we should not be feeding people in Hawaii. What a stupid thing to say. Hawaiians can grow their own food like the rest of us do.
1
You are just a cry baby. Eat pineapples and go fishing. You have a whole ocean there.
1
@cypresswyvern Michigan is literally covered with forests and ponds.
1
@cypresswyvern I understand everything. Cool it. I just made one comment about forests. Do not jump off in the deep end.
1
@cypresswyvern I always know what I am talking about. When did I ever suggest anyone come to your home state? I heard . . . . "Would the last person leaving Michigan please turn out the lights?"
1
For what? Is there a test?
1
The state department will decide that. You do not know about it.
1
@TheHauntedKiwi We do not "subsidize" Saudi Arabia.
1
@krisniznik3953 Cuba DOES NOT have better education and healthcare.
1
Moron. It is not about U.S. forcing capitalism on them. It is about a communist revolutionary who forced communism onto the Cuban people against their will when they did not want it. Everybody knows that capitalism works and communism is a failed economic model. There is no "arrogance" in knowing that or in helping the Cubans achieve their dreams of returning to their previous capitalist Cuba. @thehumanity0
1
@TheHauntedKiwi No we don't. And we have no reason to embargo Saudi Arabia. What a STUPID question. 🤣
