  28.  @shadowmoon9785  United States Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963 EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America. At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen: From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. 2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. 5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. 6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination. 7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N. 8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N. 9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress. 10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N. 11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.) 12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. 13. Do away with all loyalty oaths. 14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office. 15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. 16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights. 17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. 18. Gain control of all student newspapers. 19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." 24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. 33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus. 34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities. 35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. 36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. 37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business. 38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. 39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals. 40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. 41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. 42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems. 43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government. 44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. 45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems]. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

  34.  @shadowmoon9785  This is brainwashing. You have already been brainwashed. But this is special brainwashing just for the Muslims: XINING, China — The Dongguan Mosque has adopted some very different looks in its nearly 700 years in China's northwestern city of Xining. Built in the style of a Chinese imperial palace, with tiled roofs and no domes, and adorned with Buddhist symbols, the mosque was nearly destroyed by neglect during political tumult in the early 20th century. In the 1990s, authorities replaced the original ceramic tiles on the roof and minarets with green domes. This year, provincial authorities lopped off those domes. "The government says they want us to 'sinify' our mosques, so they look more like Beijing's Tiananmen Square," says Ali, a Muslim farmer selling pomegranates outside the mosque. He requested that NPR use only his first name because residents have been ordered not to speak about the dome removals. "I think the mosque looks good either way, but what say do we have anyways?" China is removing the domes and minarets from thousands of mosques across the country. Authorities say the domes are evidence of foreign religious influence and are taking down overtly Islamic architecture as part of a push to sinicize historically Muslim ethnic groups — to make them more traditionally Chinese. The campaign comes amid rising Islamophobia in China and growing religious restrictions, touching off a discussion across the country among scholars, ethnic policy regulators and historically Muslim Chinese communities about what exactly should be considered "Chinese" to begin with. China's ethnic policy is directly modeled on the Soviet approach, classifying citizens into 55 distinct ethnic minority groups, each of which, in theory, is granted limited cultural autonomy within its territory. But experts say the Communist Party under Xi Jinping's rule has shifted to a new approach, one that favors integration and assimilation — a process dubbed "sinicization" in official speeches and documents. "A very liberal or positive view of all this [sinicization] is just basically to compare it to, say, what's it like to become an American citizen? You accommodate and people adjust," says Dru Gladney, an expert on Islam in China at Pomona College. After more than 1,300 years of living and intermarrying in China, Hui Muslims — who number about 10.5 million, less than 1% of China's population — have adjusted by becoming culturally and linguistically Chinese. They even made their version of Islam accessible to Confucians and Daoists — trying to show it as inherently Chinese and not a foreign influence — by adopting spiritual concepts and terms found in ancient Chinese philosophy to explain Islamic precepts. Various Hui sects have also incorporated Chinese religious practices into their worship, such as burning incense at religious ceremonies. Hui communities in central Henan province are even known for their female-only and female-led mosques, believed to be a uniquely long tradition in China. The problem from Chinese authorities' perspective, says Gladney, is that the Hui are not Chinese in the way sinicization proponents want: "When people make this one-way argument of sinicization, I think they're confusing that with Han-isization" — in other words, making Chinese Muslims more like China's Han ethnic majority. Beijing has a much narrower understanding of what being "Chinese" means – adhering to Communist Party values, speaking only Mandarin Chinese and rejecting all foreign influence, say scholars. "The Communists nowadays try to culturally rule China," says Ma Haiyun, an associate history professor at Frostburg University. The streets of Xining city in China's Qinghai province are redolent with reminders of China's historically multiethnic and co-religious composition. Many people wear the white cap or scarf favored by Hui Muslims, and visitors are equally likely to hear Mandarin Chinese as the Tibetan spoken by about a fifth of Qinhai's population. Roughly one-sixth of the province's population belongs to ethnic groups China classifies as Muslim. At the heart of the city's hustle and bustle is the Dongguan Mosque, Xining's largest. In restaurants that crowd the alleyways around the mosque, vendors hand-pull halal beef soup noodles. Carts piled with dates and almonds cluster under brick archways. But missing are the big green domes that once crowned its minarets and prayer hall. Under the slogan of "removing Saudi and Arabic influence," authorities have torn down the domes from most mosques across China's northwest as part of a national removal campaign that began in earnest in 2018 Xi first called for sinicization in 2016. In August, he gave a speech saying religious and ethnic groups should "hold high the banner of Chinese unity" — meaning they should put Chinese culture ahead of ethnic differences.

  36.  @shadowmoon9785  We do not want to shoot down your space station -- we want to have "shared future for mankind." Back in the 1950s and the 1960s the Soviet Union and the United States were engaged in a contest called "The Space Race." Each country wanted to prove that it was technologically superior to the other. The Space Race was not only about competition between countries, but each country wanted to prove that their economic system was better, with the USSR competing on behalf of the communist economic/social system and the USA competing for the capitalist system. In 1957 the Soviet Union put the first satellite in orbit called Sputnik. It was a test satellite that sent a radio signal back to earth for 3 weeks before the batteries died. It was a big deal worldwide because the Soviets proved that they could do it first. In 1962 the United States put the first active telecommunications satellite in orbit called Telstar. In 1969, the United States put the first man on the moon. It was a crew of 3 --  Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. They walked around on the moon's surface, drove around on the moon in an electric dune-buggy called the Lunar Rover and planted an American flag on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man out of the space capsule and when he put foot on the moon, he made this world-renowned statement: "One small step for man -- one giant leap for mankind." The mission was called Apollo 11. The Apollo 11 mission ended the Space Race because having your men actually walk on the moon was the crowning achievement. The next thing up was the United States wanted to put a scientific research lab into orbit so they could do scientific research under zero gravity conditions. In 1973 the United States put a research lab into orbit called Skylab. It was viable from until 1979 and the United States sent several teams of scientists up to do research. During those years, NASA invented many new inventions, including solar panels and aluminum foil. However, the United States had been sending men up in non-reusable rocketships (which was expensive). So they saw the need to develop a  bus that could go up into space and come back. So in 1981 the United States fielded the Space Shuttle. The Space Shuttle is a reusable space airplane with wings that can go up into space like a rocket, but return to Earth like an airplane. In 1971 Russia put a space station up called Salyut 1, but it was only viable for 6 months then fell back to Earth. In 1972 Russia attempted to put a space station called DOS-2, but it was lost on launch. In 1973 the Soviets put up a space station called Salyut 2, but it failed and returned to Earth 54 days later. In 1973 the Russians launched another Space Station called Kosmos 557. It lasted 11 days. In 1974 the Russians put up a space station called Salyut 3. It was billed as a civilian space station by the Russians, but secretly it was a military space station. It came down in 1975. Also in 1974 Russia put up a space station called Salyut 4. It was their first successful space station and remained in orbit until 1977. In 1976 the Russians put up another military space station called Salyut 5. It was up 412 days. In 1977 the Russians put up a space station called Salyut 6. It stayed up until 1982. 1982 the Russians put up a space station called Salyut 7 until 1991. 1986 to 2001 the Soviet Union (and later Russia) operated a full-size zero gravity scientific research space station called Mir. 2011 to 2018 China operated a viable research space station called Tiangong-1. 2016 to 2019 China operated a test space station called Tiangong-2. 2021 China put up the current Tiangong space station. It is a fully viable scientific research space station able to  a crew of 6. The well-known International Space Station is a joint venture by five space agencies: the United States, Russia, Japan,  Europe and Canada. It was launched in 1998.

  45.  @shadowmoon9785  And how would you expect the protesters to respond after the PLA shot them with rifles and ran over them with tanks? They were both enraged by their government's actions and DEFENDING THEMSELVES. What happened in China was a home-grown democracy movement that had been growing for years and I can guarantee you that the CIA was not involved in any way shape or form. It was entirely Chinese. There was no "color revolution." In fact, there was no "revolution" at all. It was an entirely PEACEFUL protest where the students were peacefully requesting DIALOGUE with the government (and their own government murdered them for requesting dialogue). (i.e. blocking the square) The CIA did not inspire the Democracy Movement. But AFTER June 4th, the CIA was involved in helping certain wanted students flee the country. However, anytime the CIA wants to run a color revolution against the SCOURGE OF COMMUNISM, I will be first in line to donate to the CIA. That entire week there were reporters from all over the world in Beijing because they were covering  the Sino-Soviet Summit and Gorbachev came to Tiananmen Square. Therefore . . . The whole event was broadcast live to television networks around the world. I personally watched it live and we (the world) still have all of the videos from television stations from around the world. Some of the videos are posted on utube. You can look them up and see for yourself.         ************* And yes you do have a fifty-cent army. Why do I know about it when you don't? And one thing you seem to be failing to get is that the United States government does not tell us ANYTHING. It is an American form of government -- not a communist one. If you know so much about American history why don't you know that our government never tells us anything? It was not my government who told me China censures June 4th -- MAINLAND Chinese people told me that. My government has never even mentioned it. I asked you the question because we actually had a foreign exchange student here from China and when the professor started teaching on Tiananmen Square, the Chinese student got very upset and claimed she was making it all up and lying. Our government has no control over what goes into our history books and no control over what the media says. That non-interference concept is foundational to the democratic form of government. You should know that. (and no . . . having our government NOT try to influence me does not scare me) What scares me is the way your government brainwashes you. You are so accustomed to your government telling you everything and brainwashing you daily that it is all you know. You cannot even conceive of a western-style government that just quietly does the job they were elected to do and obeys the wishes of the people. And the PLA (probably) blew up the pipeline. Who has the most to gain from damaging European economy? CHINA! And we shot down the "weather balloon" because it was spying on U.S. missile bases and that was confirmed before we killed it. Also . . . You could not possibly know "every part" of our history -- that is not even possible. It is hard enough for me to know it all. And if you know so much about American history, why did you ask me the space station question? If you knew American history, you would know about our space station.          *************** To make sure you clearly understand what happened on June 4th, I am giving you one specific video. In this video, you can see the students capture a PLA soldier and when one of the students starts to hit him, the other students stop him. And you can see that it was a peaceful protest. It is in this video. I am blocked from doing links on utube. So I will give you the title of the video. Put the title in the utube search box and the video will come up. This is the title: Tiananmen Square Massacre: Black Night In June (2019) This other video is a documentary produced by a private company. You can watch this video and it is obvious that there is no "color revolution" going on. This is the title to the video: Footage shows what really happened in lead-up to Tiananmen Square massacre | Four Corners

  53.  @shadowmoon9785  Your mistake here is believing that the 2 videos show the same incident. They are not of the same incident. The American media published their video first. But the CCP does not like to have anything bad said about China: So after the American media published the video, the Chinese government dug through their old videos files and audio files to find some older incidents and put together the second propaganda video. Now in the American video, the American pilot believed that the Chinese pilot made an unsafe maneuver. As a professional, when the pilot returns to base he writes a report and turns that report into his commander. Then his base commander sends a report to the Pentagon. Then the Pentagon makes the video public to the media. Then the media shows the video publicly. You can see the text at the bottom of the video says the Pentagon is the source of the report. The media did not lie -- the media reported exactly what the Pentagon told them. Reporting what the Pentagon tells you is not lying. The pilot believed that the maneuver was unsafe and reported his belief. When you report your true belief about anything, you are not lying because it is your true belief. The Pentagon has professionals who can look at the video and decide if the maneuver was unsafe, and those professional made the right judgement -- the Chinese plane was too close. Now in the Chinese video (the propaganda video), the video is showing 2 separate (older) incidences: The first incidence is involving 1 airplane only (and shows a picture of an unrelated ship); the second incidence is involving 2 airplanes. In the first incidence, the Chinese pilot says: you are APPROACHING Chinese airspace and the American pilot responds by saying, "I am on the right course." The American aircraft was flying in INTERNATIONAL AIRSPACE and was NOT "playing chicken." In the second video, the ship says you are too close and the American pilot says, "I am not too close and I will be careful." That is NOT "playing chicken." What you may not be aware is that this happens almost every day between various countries. Almost every day, Chinese jet fighters fly too close to Tawain and Tawain says, "You are too close." In Alaska, Russian jetfighters fly too close to American jets and the American jet says, "You are too close." Near Alaska, Russian jets get too close to American ships and they get warned off. It also happens a lot in the Baltics and near the UK, where Russian jets fly too close to American jets. It also happens near Japan where Chinese jets fly too close to the Japanese islands. This event happens almost every day somewhere around the world where a jet from some country APPROACHES another country's airspace and are told they are too close and the other country warns them. It happens a lot in the Suez Canal. And it is NOT "playing chicken" -- it is standard military procedure. Now you need to look closer at the Chinese propaganda video because it does not show what you are claiming it shows. The Chinese propaganda video is a patchwork of several different incidents and the audio does not even match the pictures. In the video that claims that the American plane is APPROACHING Chinese airspace, you never actually see a picture of the American plane . . . Do you? What you do see is a video getting closer and closer to the ship that was taken with a CHINESE camera. There is NO American airplane shown at all. 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♂️ That is all fake -- it is propaganda. The second part of the Chinese propaganda video actually patches together a couple of different plane incidents and the audio is from some other incident altogether. It is not a contiguous video. The facts are that the Chinese video is a fake propaganda video patched together from several previous incidents in an attempt to show the American pilots "playing chicken." Anyone can see that the Chinese propaganda video is fake and (as usual) the CCP is lying. Your government is counting on your people believing their fake propaganda video because for the last 70 years, they have limited your access to real-world information. They have made the Chinese people into simple-minded creatures who do not have the necessary information or the critical thinking skills to analyze a simple fake video. That is brainwashing.

  69.  @shadowmoon9785  Boy are you mixed up: 1. The United States is on excellent terms with China. China has "most favored nation" trading status with the United States. China is the United States' number 1 trading partner – the United States is China's number 1 trading partner. These 2 countries do more trade than any other 2 countries in the world. One million Chinese foreign exchange students study in American universities every year. 2. NATO was created to secure peace in Europe, to promote cooperation among its members and to GUARD THEIR FREEDOM – all of this in the context of countering the THREAT posed at the time by the Soviet Union. (Taken from NATO's website.) 3. Russia has never submitted an application to join NATO. 4. No one ever promised that NATO would not expand. 5. "Starting on July 11, tens of thousands of Cubans in dozens of cities and towns throughout their country took to the streets to peacefully demand respect for their fundamental freedoms and a better future. In response, the Cuban regime violently repressed the protests, arresting hundreds of demonstrators simply for exercising their human rights of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. The actions of Cuban security forces and violent mobs mobilized by Cuban Communist Party First Secretary Miguel Diaz-Canel lay bare the regime’s fear of its own people and unwillingness to meet their basic needs and aspirations. Today, the United States is imposing sanctions on Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba Álvaro López Miera and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior’s Special National Brigade or “Boinas Negras” (Black Berets). López Miera and the Special National Brigade have been involved in suppressing the protests, including through physical violence and intimidation. We take this action pursuant to Executive Order 13818, which builds upon and implements the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. WE STAND WITH EVERY CUBAN seeking a government that respects the HUMAN RIGHTS and DIGNITY of the Cuban people. We will continue to take action to promote accountability for the Cuban government’s HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES, including through additional sanctions pursuant to Global Magnitsky, as appropriate."    * Official United States government document July 22, 2021 *

  72.  @shadowmoon9785  Your video does NOT say Iran and Saudi Arabia are "becoming friends again." It says they had to find some way to get along in order to avoid killing each other. It also says that "America is the big guarantor of peace in the region." Without the Americans guaranteeing the peace, it would be much more difficult for these two countries to come together. You should give us some credit for being the guarantor of peace. Technically, countries cannot be "friends" like people can, but let's look at the facts: The United States has diplomatic relations with every country in the world except, Bhutan, Iran, North Korea and Syria. The United States was once at war with the U.K. but has become friends. The United States was once at war with Spain but has become friends. The United States was once at war with Mexico but has become friends. The United States was once at war with Germany but has become friends. The United States was once at war with Italy but has become friends. The United States was once at war with Japan but has become friends, spending 7 years rebuilding Japan after the war. (We dropped 2 atom bombs on Japan and STILL we were able to become friends.) The United States fought a war with Iraq and has now become friends. The United States fought a war in Afghanistan and then spent 20 years building schools, roads, and bridges and helped them set up a democratic government. Last year alone, the United States gave $775 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The United States resolved the Cold War with Russia and became friends. At a time when Chinese were living in abject poverty and no one in the world would have any dealings at all with China because they were communist (except Russia), the United States government sent a team of Ping Pong players to play Ping Pong with the Chinese Ping Pong team and to meet with Mao Zedong. After opening the door to relations with China through the Ping Pong tournament, President Nixon traveled to Beijing and signed the Shanghai Communiqué that said that the United States and China would begin working together to normalize relations and learn to be friends. That meeting was the start of China's rise and we have worked with China and helped China every step of the way. I would say that the United States is the WORLD CHAMPION at friend-making. And what really gets me is how you can be so critical of the United States after we single-handedly built China into what it is today -- I can only guess that it is your brainwashing and you have been blocked from knowing the U.S. contributions to China. Dude! We CREATED your industrial age! The United States rebuilt China from nothing and your explanation is that it only happened because "it was meant to be." SHEESH! 🤷‍♀️ What gratitude! 🤷‍♂️ Shadowmoon . . . . You do not have the humility of Confucius -- you have the arrogance of the Hun.

  75.  @shadowmoon9785  You claim to know all of American history. But if that claim were true, one of the very first things you would learn is that the government sector and the private sector are completely separate entities. You have a completely fundamental misunderstanding of how our government works and if you had studied the American revolution, you would have covered that. And on the inverse side, you would have learned that the United States government does the will of the people. Your foreign friends cannot say they are against U.S. government policies, but are for the people. U.S. government policy IS the will of the American people. So how could blowing up the pipeline be the general will of the American people? We are better than that. There is only one person in the entire United States who could give the order to blow up the pipeline and that person is Biden. And Biden could not give that order without first establishing (somehow) that is was the general will of the American people. And then . . . Since it would be considered a terrorist act, he would first have to get the Congress to repeal our laws against terrorism. And you are completely overlooking the fact that if the United States did blow-up the pipeline, and it ever got found out, we would lose ALL of our allies in Europe. Do really think that Americans are that stupid? To do something that could potentially cost us all of our allies? You do not know Americans . . . You do not know American history . . . You do not know American politics . . . You do not know who blew the pipeline. In fact . . . You do not know anything. This entire conversation has been about only one thing: You and the rest of the Chinese people trying to solve their low self-esteem problem by accusing the United States of being the cause of all the problems. The fact is . . . COMMUNISM is the cause of all of the problems.

  114.  @danieltam3923  Our rail systems are kept up to date and meet all of the current standards. China only wishes they could afford to build a rail system as comprehensive as ours. We would like to reduce our military to zero. But with communist Russia and communist China threatening to take over the world, we really are not in a position to do that. The problem is communist ideology and its doctrine of destroying capitalism and capitalists everywhere in the world. We have to keep our country strong against threats from the outside. Since when is earning $2 a day being "lifted out of poverty"??? We do "give back to our neighbors": Our homeless people are not "starving." They receive $8 a day in food stamps -- that is 4 times more than the poor people in China make. And if a homeless person is classified as "disabled," they also receive a monthly check for $914 (on top of their food stamps) (and 100% free medical care). And they are not "millions" -- they are 187,000. The United States has one of the lowest homeless rates in the world. The United States government also gives $50 million a year in humanitarian aid to impoverished countries. And individual American citizens give $500 billion every year out of their personal income. I personally give 10% of my income to an organization that feeds starving children in Africa. We cannot meet the entire world's needs. But we do what we can. We are already meeting the goals you have set for us in giving and have been for many years. And yes, my God is proud of me (us). How much do you give annually to feed starving children in Africa? And why are you jealous of RICH America??

  122.  @Jason-io9zg  I did some research on vinyl chloride production, safety, and transportation and I do not see a problem. There are Environmental Protection Agency personnel on the scene monitoring the air and water quality and they say there is no safety concern. The decision to do a controlled burn was not made by a fireman -- it was made by a team of chemical safety experts. They did the burn because they had to let the pressure out of the tank so that the tank would not explode. But they did not want to contaminate the drinking wells with vinyl chloride. So it was safer to burn it off and let it go into the atmospere than to let it sink into the ground and contaminate the drinking water. All of the area wells have been tested and have no vinyl chloride in them. The air is tested and it is safe to breathe. The site is being monitored for dioxins and none have been detected. The soil will be checked for presence of dioxins and if dioxins are present, they will be cleaned up. Other than an inconvenience for the community, I do not see a problem. I do not think you Chinese are smart enough to be second-guessing our smartest experts and scientists and saying they made a mistake and are wrong. They know what they are doing and they did not make a mistake. What they did was right. *************** It says that dioxins are always present in the soil and that only a few types of dioxins are toxic. Dioxins are caused by any type of burning. Oil Coal Wood Cigarettes Backyard waste House fires Forest fires Diesel fuel Gasoline That train burns diesel and every time it runs through that town it releases dioxins into the atmosphere. I do not see a problem. I do see a problem with China's 250 plus coal-fired electrical generating plants releasing dioxins and carbon dioxide into the air on a mass scale. Am I going to say China is "weak" for running their whole country on dangerous coal, pumping dioxins into the atmosphere, and destroying the planet with carbon dioxide emissions? No . . . . . irresponsible.
