  3. @georgeginsburg545  Utility megapacks are for overnight use only and they plan on supplementing them at night with windpower and other resources. They will not last 24 hours. Of course the more you buy the longer they last. But they are cost-prohibitive. After the state of California implemented a lot of solar, they started having blackouts just before the sun went down. I think they may have it fixed now. Someday when new and cheaper battery technology is developed there may be more reliance on batteries.

  6. Lithium mining does not hurt the environment. It is mostly dug in an uninhabited wasteland desert environment in Chile. You could say that the diesel tractors hurt the environment. But you would have that producing anything.
