  15.  @timtim5933  I understand. I am trying to tell you that you have the cart in front of the horse. The foundation of everything in our modern lives is cheap oil. Oil was discovered in the United States. Americans figured out how to make it into gasoline and invented refineries. Then Americans built refineries all over the world -- they discovered the oil fields in Saudi Arabia and built the refineries there. They discovered the oil fields in Siberia and built the refineries there. The Russian oil that India completely runs on comes (indirectly) from America. Everything does . . and I mean EVERYTHING. Now you want to talk about economics and politics. Explain how you could talk about economics and politics, if India had no oil? Explain how brics could make a currency without the internet? Explain how the brics summit could be held in Africa with no American-invented airplanes and no American-invented jet airplane engines. Without technology, all of the brics countries would be living in huts and eating rice 3 meals a day and would not even know there was a Europe -- it would just be a name they heard somewhere. They would not be discussing making a common currency -- they would not be discussing anything. Economics is cheap oil -- reduced transportation costs -- and reduced transaction costs. That is economics. Politics is countries who can meet and work together because TECHNOLOGY has made the world smaller and closer together. And the Americans (and Europeans) did it all. Your television was invented in America. Your microwave oven was invented in America. Your refrigerator was invented in America. Your Air conditioner was invented in America. Your transportation was invented in Europe and America. All of your plastics were invented in America. The loom that weaves your clothes was invented in America. In fact, everything you touch all day long has America stamped on it. Your entire modern life, as well as, your country's political system, is brought to you by America -- and you think brics can give you more "hope" than that?
