What about Ukrainian agriculture? The Ukraine grows about 20% of the worlds grain crops. If Russia prevents Ukraine from planting this year, we are talking very serious food shortages in many parts of the world. That might be the Trump card in Putin‘s sleeve that will allow him to get support from the west to pressure Ukraine to accept a peace treaty. Russia may not have entered the agricultural lands yet, but I think they have a good reason to do so. One way that Russia can win the war in Ukraine, or at least achieve a face saving Peastrie, is to take hostages in Ukraine and even better in the rest of the world! Disrupting the planting of the crop land would not be at all very difficult but would have profound implications. Of course, with the Russians do anything so dastardly?

@boarfaceswinejaw4516 Actually, my understanding is that Russia is also a large exporter of grain so they might not be in such bad shape if Ukraine does not plant.

@boarfaceswinejaw4516 What you say sounds reasonable, but we should remember that Putin idolizes Stalin and Stalin, in the early 30s, starved Russians and Ukrainians to death in order to sell their grain on the world market for much needed foreign exchange! Putin has his Stalin-like Winter War (with Ukraine instead of Finland for now), so not create a man-made famine (like Stalin) as well?
