Civil disobedience! Civil disobedience! Civil disobedience! Every woman in South Carolina of menstruating Hage, who is against this bill, should go to a police station, or a local government office, or a state, government office, or the legislature, or a post office, or a college, sporting event, or a church that is anti-abortion, or the home of an anti-abortion legislative person, and confess to having induced a miscarriage of themselves using drugs every two months since they begin menstruating. They could confess to one such incident in one protest, then do it all over again for another incident and another incident and another incident. Each time that they Confess to this crime, they sit down where they are banking, the confession and demand to be arrested by the police. If tens of thousands of South Carolina women were doing this every week they could paralyze South Carolina society. What would the state do? These women would be confessing to a crime for which they were the only witness. The confessing women would not have to presented the evidence other than their confession. The confessing women, of course, would refuse to name who the father was, and would also refuse to see where they got the requisite drugs from. What was the state do?

If enough women are upset, about the way, the Republicans are outlying abortion, they could vote against all Republicans and end this problem once and for all. Why do women keep voting for Republicans insufficient numbers to keep them in power?

Resident Zero sad but true! The worst part for me is that these right wing women who are so eager to put other women to death, consider themselves to be the very best of Christians. Unfortunately, it is not just the Republicans who are ill, but Christianity itself at this time is sick unto death.

@ruaraidh74 I believe you! And I am glad that women are disproportionately pro life! However, are these disproportionately pro-life women that we won’t hear about from TYT also OK with letting women die from pregnancies that are killing them? Are these disproportionately, pro-life women OK with being arrested on suspicion that they induced a miscarriage and executed? Are these disproportionately pro-life women that we won’t hear about from TYT OK with the state taking over all of the major decisions having to do with your bodies?

@demotter Women need sex too - that would be hard on them. Unfortunately, if they don't find some way to overturn the anti-abortion and anti-abortion-drug legislation in South Carolina, NOT HAVING sex will be the only way they can really be safe from dying of a miscarriage., (Unless, of course, they are raped in which case they will have to die if the pregnancy goes badly. But that is the will of God, right? Any truly good Christian will tell you that!)

@modernwonder When I was growing up in the 1960s and learning about World War II, there was a very strong feeling that fascism would never happen in the United States. Unfortunately, I think it’s all too clear that that presumption was incorrect. How long do you think it will take before the victims of the current madness about abortion are eulogized the way that the victims of the witch trials are now?

@Jenifer_R_ Truly, it will be a great day in American history when South Carolina puts to death a (minority) women who can’t prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that her miscarriage was spontaneous. Christian women everywhere will celebrate!

@Jenifer_R_ Perhaps. The important thing to note here is that South Carolina is a small state and they are going to need a lot of people donating to them in order to pay for all of the executions they will have to do. Where should I send my money?

@bchristian85 church wives? That’s probably very good, especially for the women who will get pregnant have difficulties with pregnancies and then die from the pregnancies because their state has decided that they have to instead of having an abortion of the fetus and surviving. Since these women are “church wives“ they will probably be buried in the church graveyard.

@ruaraidh74 Your assumption that all women receive sufficient pre-natal care and thus, "there is no such thing as a life-saving abortion", is patently and pathetically false. What about women who are too poor to afford health insurance or to pay for a doctor out of their own pockets early enough in their pregnancies for doctors to be able to resolve their problems without an abortion? What about healthy pregnant women who suddenly take an unexpected turn for the worse and there is no alternative to save their life except an abortion? What about pregnant women who are injured in an accident and abortion is the only choice to save their lives? Women in these situations DO EXIST and DO DESERVE to survive.
