Think of the poor banks that only have an air-tight guarantee from the US government to get their money back and the assurance that nothing - not even your death - will prevent them from collecting every penny from you, your co-signers or your descendants!!! If you weren’t spending all your time, gleefully, frustrating, the heroic efforts of particle physicist to get tons, and tons of money to build unnecessary new particle collider’s, you could’ve had time to help the German women get out of the group stage!!!   8. Pinching yourself to stop feeling another pain! You forgot to mention the stupid human trick where if a dentist is drilling on your mouth if you pinch yourself hard enough your brain will focus almost entirely on the pinch and you’ll almost be entirely unable to feel the drilling! Not exactly sure how this works except I assume that it’s in the brain itself. I find it very useful in that I can substitute a pain that I can control (the pinch) for a pain that I cannot control (The drilling) and that I’m probably more afraid of. When I’m at the dentist, I focus on the pinch which I can start and stop whenever I want and can move around instead of focusing on the drilling which I really have no control over.

  17. Sabine, all particle physicist thank you for your support for building a humongous new particle Excelerator to investigate the fifth force that you agree has been proved to exist. We should only need a few hundred billions of dollars in order to get this done. As I’m sure you will agree, we should start construction immediately while we are completing the theory that we are going to test with a few finishing touches. no uncertainty here!

  18. Poor corporate leadership identify may be the most important problem that AI helps us to solve! AI will help us to identify corporations that have really poor leaders who throw away money in the tons investing into AI with no clear idea of how they’re going to make it pay off. Once the AI bubble bursts, this poor corporate leadership I hope will be fired and more competent people will take their place.

  21. My central vision has declined significantly in the last 10 years to the point that I’m legally blind. I often experience exactly what’s described in this video, my brain fills in details that aren’t there and sometimes I see a truck ahead of the car my wife is driving that really is just a figment of my imagination. However, I also have the other problem which is if I glance to my left and right to see if it’s safe to cross the road, quite often I can miss that big truck that’s Bering down on me. So, I have to be very careful to make sure there are no mountain lions lurking about.
