Question: will the US military refuse to invade Panama to take back the canal or refuse to invade Greenland? On the one hand, I think that if Trump orders them to do so it will obviously be an illegal order that they should reject and refuse to follow. On the other hand, it’s also clear than any general that might stand up to Trump would be immediately fired in court marshal. Our US general’s so career oriented and so meek that they would just go along with illegal orders?

@ Principles? Yes and no. I’m afraid that the military is an organization composed of humans and the principles of any human organization are really only as good as the principles of the people in charge. I’m sure that Pete Hegseth with his mother approved morals, and complete lack of drinking will do just fine.
