  1. Suggestion: every blood donation given to organizations like the Red Cross should be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. This would serve many purposes: first, it would help these organizations like the Red Cross to identify people whose plasma could be used for treating COVID-19 patients; second, it would be a tremendous draw if you told prospective donors that their blood would be tested for antibodies because in the nine states at least it’s going to be very difficult to get your blood tested for antibodies by request; third, this would provide a wealth of data about how much of the disease is spreading across various parts of the United States or other countries it would also give information on whether or not people who test for antibodies one week lose those antibodies and subsequently weeks; fourth, it would be trivial for blood collecting organizations to add just one more test to the test they already do on the blood products that they collect it would also be trivial for them then to just charge the cost of the antibody test onto the insurance companies or whoever pays for the blood products.
