Have you forgotten the “red card“? When Mao faced opposition he created the “red guard“ to destroy it. Today, a much improved version of the “red guard“ is called “zero covid“. Unlike the “red guard“ of the past, the “zero Covid“ policy is much more controllable, much easier to direct i against specific enemies, and far easier to either accelerate or stop all together whenever needed. In the past, the average Chinese people did not matter to the CCP and they let millions of them die. Today the average Chinese people still do not matter to the CCP and they will be allowed to die in the millions or tens of millions as necessary in order to preserve the CCP. To think otherwise is very naive.
