Why haven’t the big three American car companies ever seriously attempted to build reliable cars? I know your channel focuses on the exterior design, but why having the big three of the American car companies ever tried to make their cars notable for quality and durability? It seems that they spend lots of money, developing new engines and transmissions that turn out to be horrible And allow their cars to be assembled in such a lackadaisical manner that they have terrible quality. Why? Design is great and if they want to change it from year to year to attract buyers that’s fine but while they’re doing that why not spend some money on making the cars more reliable and durable so that people Will not be off put by those lack of quality areas? Does Detroit really think that marketing and design are everything and quality under the skin is something that they never have to worry about? Based on your series, it seems like Detroit has tried every last thing they can think of to sell cars except the simple experience of building a good one under the skin.

Velcro! A quick fix for your center consul problem could be just to put Velcro to hold it down. However, this illustrates my point that Detroit seems to be full of people who believe that instead of providing a solution to problems so that they don’t occur instead covers everything up with tinfoil and marketing. Why? How did that become so ingrained in the American car benefactors? Do they really just hate people who buy their cars and they want to make certain that those people suffer over and over again for years once they are stupid enough to buy an American car?

Is it all Robert McNamara‘s fault? Is he American car industries obsession with squeezing every last dime out of their suppliers by purchasing the lowest cost least quality components that they can find the fault of Robert McNamara and the bean counters? Is the American car in the street trail still suffering from the emphasis that Robert McNamara put on “cost efficiency“ Over quality?
