  2. I think you put your finger on the difference between reading fiction and seeking out psychedelic experience. Reading fiction is a shared experience. Reading fiction is experiencing something that has a conscious mind behind it. Reading fiction can alter your perception. Psychedelic experience, however, is just messing with the neurons in your brain. It’s not clear that there’s any conscious mind behind what happens nor any real value. Reading fiction is worthwhile. Psychedelic experience is more just looking in a Funhouse mirror.
