The Boeing CEO is interviewing to become CEO of BP oil company. BP needs someone who can "apologize sincerely" without really meaning it so that they will be ready for their next major oil spill.

You missed a couple crucial points that make this even more certain to be a grift: 1. What are the key aspects of Elon‘s plans for bars is to generate fuel from the Martian atmosphere and water under the Martian surface to power of the starship for return flights. However, there is no pilot plant for this activity on earth yet. It would be much easier to do this on earth because the atmospheric pressure is so much higher and there’s abundant water and yet there’s no prototype plant yet. 2. There is no prototype of what an initial Martian comedy would actually consist of. If you don’t have a prototype of what an initial Martian colony would consist of, how do you know how much stuff you have to bring from the earth to Mars to establish one? The fact that such a prototype does not exist means that the starship as far as being a mars vehicle really has no solid requirements to, use as the basis of sound engineering.

Is it possible that Elon has based his entire business model off of the underwear Gnomes made popular by South Park? First step, you steal all the underwear. Third step, profit. Of course, neither Elon nor anyone else knows what the second step is.

@HaviccB "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." Building a spaceship to go to Mars when you don't have any sort of feasible plan for actually going to Mars and colonizing it seems to be the height of bad business judgement. Or, as the kids say "Elon Genius!".

@ublade82 Yes, a lot of work has been done on the C02 to methane reaction. However, a lot of important questions can only be answered with a prototype: 1. How big does the C02 capture hardware have to be to work in the Mars atmosphere? 2. How much methane can a prototype produce with a given amount of C02 and water under Martian conditions? 3. How fast can a prototype produce enough fuel to fill a Starship on Mars to get it back to the Earth? 4. What are the energy requirements for the prototype and where is this energy going to come from? Probably will have to be nuclear because the number of solar panels required would be prohibitively expensive to take to Mars and impossible to make on Mars. Where is the prototype of a sufficiently large and safe nuclear power source? 4. How big and how heavy will the prototype be? How many Starships will be required to get it to Mars? 5. How will the prototype be assembled on Mars? How much equipment and astronauts will be required? 6. How reliable will the prototype be? How many spare parts need to be taken to Mars? Will the prototype have a tendency to explode?

@dong9514 You are almost correct. For Elon step two is collect money and step three is make profit. You forgot the first most crucial step that Elon always engages in, which is to make absolutely wild promises that are completely impossible to fulfill, but that excite people. Once you’ve done that people will give you money. Note that there is no step four where promises are kept. That is vital! That would spoil the whole plan!
6
@satunnainenkatselija4478 Mr. Boeing CEO may have promised to take a "I'm not scared" flight on a Boeing product. I too would be nervous in that position!
5
@Zackzickel Okay! Then what EXACTLY is the Starship being designed to do? What are the requirements that the engineers are using? How will we know when it is done? How will we know if it is a good spaceship?
5
@davinnicode BP and the oil spill it created is a good example of a corporation fundamentally losing its way. Unfortunately, the Boeing corporation seems to have fundamentally lost its way as well. What is the point of the Boeing corporation if it believes that it can build planes that fall apart and kill people, and then not take responsibility or do anything to correct it? The Boeing corporation seems to have decided at least at this point in time that profits are much more important than quality and safe products.

@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD Thank you! Good to know! Where can I short Terraform Industries' stock?
4
@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD Is that the best put down you can come up with?
4
@Zackzickel The Starship IS a BIG EFFING ROCKET - and that probably gets Elon into beds he'd otherwise not be able to get into. Can't fault him for that!
3
@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD I agree that we need more cheap transport to LEO, but I don't see the need for rapid reusability with respect to most paying payloads like satellites that require careful, time consuming integration into the launch vehicle. Even Starlink satellites take more than an hour or two to integrate. As far as orbital refueling, I don't see that as something that is vital because I don't think that Starship is the right vehicle to send to either the Moon or Mars. As far as engineering principles are concerned, good designs are those that work in the context of how they are going to actually be used. The only way to know if Starship is a good design or if it needs to be larger, smaller, or rapidly reusable is to define the context in which it will be used.

I doubt that Elon really is very wealthy. For example, he apparently cannot afford to buy condoms that do not break.
2
@angie99656 You may be right! However, I'm not sure if the Boeing CEO is a "deep" enough thinker for that role.
2
Where can I short Cathy Woods? I want to be rich and shorting Woods seems like the most sure way to get there!
2
Sorry! The rule of Musk BS says you need to make 10 videos for every video of Elon lies. Debunking is hard, long, thankless work.
2
@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD I hope they do figure it out. We certainly need it.
2
@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD Thank you. JWST is an excellent example of how knowing your intended purpose thoroughly is crucial in developing a good design.

The CCP should embrace the bad economy! The bad economy will make the least loyal Chinese people complain the most and first. This will make it easy for the CCP to identify those people who should be arrested and executed first. All hail the leader ship of Xi Jinping and the CCP!

Request: please do a series of videos on all of the promises that Elon made to get his $56 billion pay raise. You might start with the video the details all the problems that he made and follow it up as each of these promises turns out to be a lie or something that will never happen or something That he will never deliver on. I think the first video about his lies could focus on the second quarter results of Tesla which I’m sure I’m going to be very disappointed and much less than what he was predicted just a few weeks ago. The second video should be on the Robo taxi announcement for August 8. I have a feeling that this announcement is going to be so unbelievably underwhelming and people will be in shock. The third video could be on the Tesla battery that is not working out. The fourth video could be on Elon‘s promise to invest $500 million in beefing up the charging network which he made right after firing all of the people in his company, who knew how to be up the charging network. The next video could just be an update on this cyber truck and how it has turned into nothing but a stainless steel urinal. The video after that could focus on the fact that electric vehicles generally aren’t very repairable and that no one wants to buy used electric vehicle. I think it would be a very good series for you and would attract a lot of viewers. It will probably be special interest to Tesla stockholder to voted Elon the tremendous amount of extra stock options.

@shadowninja6689 I am very skeptical that Boeing corporation will “learn its lesson“. After the MCAS debacle killed 300+ people, the Boeing corporation seem to spend most of their effort time and ingenuity in finding ways to avoid telling the truth and avoid “learning their lesson“. At this point, the Boeing corporation is probably “too big to fail“ and will not be allowed to lose enough money to “learn its lesson“. Perhaps if they kill several planes full of small children? Even then, I wouldn’t be surprised if they hired Alex Jones to deny that the children really existed the same way that he denied the reality of the Sandy Hook shootings.
1
@JohnJones-k9d true. However, BP embarrassed itself with its less than heartfelt apologies. The CEO of the Boeing corporation seems to have found that same insincere note in his apologies as well.

@blueridger28 Yes! That was my reference!

What about Elon and SpaceX? During the development of starship, I think Elon Musk has made a number of questionable decisions about the test regime that he is using. Especially the launch of starship the first time early in 2023 when they launch the starship that clearly was not ready from an orbital launch mount that clearly was not sufficient. What kind of compensation is Elon angling for when he sells a steak in SpaceX? How are his plans for his SpaceX compensation driving his decisions about SpaceX?

In 2010, I did some consulting at AIG. While there, I met the information, technology folks that came from the arm of AIG that had written all of these credit, default, swaps, and almost brought down the world economy. Seldom have I ever met such arrogant people, as the ones that came from that particular arm of AIG only two years after they nearly brought down the world economy.

“The end justifies the means” is not only the slogan of Wall Street, it’s also the slogan of Christianity these days. They want women, gay, lesbians, transgender people punished, and Trump will do their bidding.
1
Great video! You should take a look at starship development. I think Jan’s erratic behavior is significantly affecting the course of starship development as well.

Nice video until you remember that the Wall Street Journal worships at the feet of the worlds greatest delusional narcissist, Donald J Trump.

Request: since your channel name includes the words “Wall Street“, could you please explain why Wall Street didn’t see this coming? Was it Wall Street recommending investment in China as recently as 2021? Is Wall Street crooked or just stupid? Perhaps you should change the name of your channel so that you’re not associating yourself with stupid CROOKS.

Should we believe the boy who cried wolf? Seeing the WSJ debunk cryptocurrency (long after everyone else woke up to that fact) is like watching the boy who cried wolf admitting that there really never was a wolf. What is next? Is the WSJ going to finally admit that the communist Chinese Parties “miracle” economy is not a miracle?

Mortgage boycotters are traitors to The CCP (Which is the most important part of what most people call China)! Thank goodness that Xi Jinping and the CCP have the courage that is lacking in the west! Xi Jinping and the CCP will courageously and heroically defend does he see P (otherwise called China) by arresting the mortgage boycotters and summarily executing them! All hail the leader ship of Xi Jinping and the CCP!
1
Wow! The WSJ exposing financial fraud! I wonder if they’re ever going to report on that company that people have a lot of questions about called Enron? That company that they extolledl the virtues of for so many years? Does the WSJ remember Enron? By the way, how is that CCP miracle economy doing? The economy that the Wall Street Journal praised for years?

@skierpage I am referring specifically to two Elon lies: 1) FSD and 2) Starship for Moon and Mars colonization. Elon keeps saying that FSD "will work any day now" and that as soon as it does, robo taxis will flood the streets and make enormous profits. Elon says that a 1000 final version Starships will voyage together to Mars carrying 100,000 new colonists every two years (Mars launch window) for 20 years. You ARE right though - at least the Underpants Gnomes AT LEAST did not tell huge lies, so comparing Elon to them is very unfair.

You are wrong, there is no debt or real estate crisis in China! There is no debt crisis if the people to whom money is owed are too dead or too terrorized to ask for it! There is no real estate crisis if the people who are owed houses are too dead or too terrorized to ask for them! We in the west are not courageous enough to realize this fact and to act on it the way that she didn’t ping (XiJinping) and the CCP will! All hail the heroic and wise leader ship of Xi Jinping and the CCP!

Suggested video: do a video on SpaceX starship focusing on the heat shield design still being incomplete. After four years of work, heat tile still fall off the starship during launch let alone reentry. Heat shield design is not done and it may not actually be feasible with current materials. The key point is without a heat shield that can survive reentry completely intact, rapid reusability of starship is off the table and refueling starships in orbit is also off the table, which means that starship will never go to moon and will never go to Mars. The fact that the Heat chilled design is not done at this point is like the Moon lander not being finished just prior to the takeoff of Apollo 11. What is the point of starship if it’s not rapidly reusable?
