You take comfort in the fact that Boeing has not made public any information that could lead one to believe that the Starliner returning to earth could be dangerous? Should the families have the 346 people who died on 737 max crashes, take comfort in the fact that before the crashes Boeing had not released any information, that would lead one to believe if they were serious design flaws in the Boeing 737 max?

Free the Starliner 2! Free the Starliner 2! Free the Starliner 2! By the way, Hollywood is already made the movie about this situation. The movie is called “marooned” STARZ, Gene Heckman and Gregory Peck and was released in November 1969. It features three astronaut stranded in an Apollo command module in orbit as they try to return from a new space station. Sound familiar?

Question: If Starship still needs a LOT of work in your opinion, isn't it crazy for SpaceX to attempt to catch the booster on their one and only launch tower (for now) with the distinct posibility of a mishap that could damage that tower, the tank farm nearby, and, depending on the severity of the mishap, hit buildings and people nearby? Wouldn't you agree that Elon's insistence on this is INCREDIBLY BAD JUDEGEMENT?

@TheSpaceRaceYT The movie was not very popular at the time considering that NASA had just pulled off the first moon landing. However, if you Google it, it will come up. I have not tried to watch it yet, but you probably can on somewhere at some price. The only reason I really remember this movie is that Mad Magazine did a spoof of the movie in one of their issues around that time with some memorable cartoons. Unfortunately, given the leadership at Boeing and NASA, I have a feeling that those two companies should mandatorily watch it to get some ideas.

Why doesn’t the second launch of starship include reignition of the second stage engines prior to landing? Is SpaceX worried that the heat shield is not going to work? Remember, if SpaceX cannot make the heat shield approach, they are currently using work, a major redesign of starship will be required for a new Type of heat shield or approach to landing starship. The fact that SpaceX is not testing the heat shield by trying to reignite the second stage engines prior to landing is worrisome.

@GregoryAlbright-t3p The failures at Boeing on their commercial airplanes and on the Starliner are not technical issues as much as they are management issues. Unfortunately, management issues are much much harder to fix and tactical issues.

If we want Starship Flight 9 to launch EVEN EARLIER, all we need to do is point and laugh at Elon and call him a failure. Elon's very fragile ego is REALLY HURTING right now because of all the humiliation he is currently suffering. He as ALREADY announced a MUCH TOO AGGRESSIVE date for the next Starship launch that may well result in another explosion, but if he laugh and point at Elon enough, he'll probably DEMAND that SpaceX launch EVEN EARLIER - maybe even next week. Since exploding Starships are SO PRETTY, let's all work together to get the Flight 9 launch date moved up to the point that it will be guaranteed to explode!!!

When will SpaceX go bankrupt? Since there are no customers for so many starships and since there is absolutely no concrete plans for a Mars all of these starships are just going to be gigantic paperweights. So, when will SpaceX go bankrupt?

@TheSpaceRaceYT The silver lining to a booster catch mishap will - I hope - be locking Elon out of making substantive decisions on Starship development. Elon rushed Starship Flight 1 when the OLM was not ready with bad results. My thought is that Elon is rushing the catch attempt because the 8/8 robotaxi announcement is going to be HIGHLY underwhelming. Succeed or fail, a booster catch attempt will "boost" confidence that Elon is a genius - even if it turns out that robotaxis ARE NOT going to help the Tesla bottom line any time soon.
