Question: how many more years will it be before the Chinese society and economy collapse?

@paddington1670 They certainly have a lot of worker bees now. But that is going to change. With the one child policy, two couples who each had one child or one new couple. Supposing that those two children married and had one child - the only descendant of 6 people (4 grandparents and 2 parents) that they are expected to support in their old age. If that one child married another child with a similar heritage, the new married couple would have to support 12 retired people. If they then had 3 children in accordance with the new 3 child policy, at least for 20 years that one married couple would be support 15 people. Even dedicated worker bees can't work that much!

@qi_be8747 Yeah, we probably do have to do that. I remember back in the mid 90s when people like Dr. Henry Kissinger (whom I heard speak on this subject at that time.) were expressing their unshakeable conviction that China posed no long term threat to the U.S. because its economy was so small at that time and that even if China's economy did grow very rapidly for very long that democracy would inevitably prevail over communism as China embraced capitalism. Today, I'm not so sure that is where things are headed.
