Summary: CCP continues to wander aimlessly, lost asleep in its own fantasies. Secretary Blinken tries to wake it up without success.
51
Summary: CCP demands that the entire world close its eyes, and make believe that the Chinese economy is getting stronger every day, and in every way!
42
Summary: CCP yarns for a younger CCP emperor. Fondness for the old CCP Emperor wanes at the same rate that the money runs out.
29
Apply Benford‘s law to the numbers reported by Chinese developers! Benford‘s law is the standard test to determine if a set of numbers are fictitious such as the financial results of Chinese developers. I bet if you apply Benford‘s law to their numbers that they are reporting you will find that most of them are probably fictitious.
21
Summary: the CCP is improving the world dramatically both inside and outside China! Inside China, the CCP is working hard to lower the cost of real estate, and to give more and more of its citizens, the opportunity to take lengthy vacations. Outside of China, the CCP’s diplomacy is helping countries like Japan and South Korea to form new alliances after decades of hatred and mistrust. All hail, the wise and loving leadership of Xi Jinping, and the CCP!
15
Provincial actions against mortgage boycotters? The provinces have the most to lose if real estate prices drop as a result of successful mortgage boycotts. What actions are the provinces taking (quietly of course) against mortgage boycotters so that word of mouth will scare the majority of mortgage boycotters back into paying their mortgages? Are the provinces beginnin to fine, arrest, imprison, torture, kill, organ harvest the leading mortgage boycotters and their families?
14
You missed the really good news! You didn’t report that the hearts of the Chinese people swelled three sizes in the last quarter in their pride in the tremendous leadership of Xi Jinping and the CCP! All hail the leadership of Xi Jinping in the CCP!
13
Summary: Lacking any new ideas, CCP plans to build more needless infrastructure. Tony dutifully reports wild Huawei projections that should help boost their stock price. CCP reports that the belt and Road initiative is a wild success and proposes a New World order based on “heads, the CCP wins, tails, everyone else loses“.
13
Major missing chunk of electric vehicle, export analysis! The Chinese may be indeed exporting a lot of electric vehicles to places, like Thailand, and other countries in Southeast Asia, but isn’t this going to be severely limited by the fact that they don’t have very robust electric utilities? Sure, a relatively small number of electric vehicles can be exported to these countries but pretty soon, the lack of a good electric grid is going to severely limit exports beyond a relatively small number. Without a good charging net work, electric vehicles are as useful and mobile as a pet rock.
12
Summary: Tony, in his summary of an article about CCP industrial policy, forgot to mention that in addition to forcing Chinese households to invest in industrial concerns and forcing foreign firms to handover technology, perhaps the most important part of the CCP industrial policy was to put the profits of their industry into the pockets of CCP officials.
12
Question: Is Xi still in control? Current CCP policies don’t seem quite as stupid as they did when Xi was At his most powerful.
12
China is not a larger version of Japan! Analyzing China as if it is a larger version of Japan is completely meaningless! China does not have a legal system. China does not have a democracy. China does not have a real economic system. China does not have a real banking system. China does not have laws and regulations that are actually followed. China is not in anyway shape or form like Japan and thinking that China will follow the same course that Japan took is completely erroneous! The financial Times should be ashamed of having printed an article that compares China to Japan, in any way, shape or form.
10
What are the provinces going to do about mortgage boycotters? Seems to me that the provinces have the most to lose when it comes to declining real estate prices and mortgage boycotts are undoubtedly going to have a large negative impact on housing prices.
10
Summary: Tony continues to embrace the “structural economic“ theory of why the Chinese economy is going down, which allows him to ignore the impact of CCP policies on economics and human rights. CCP announces intention to try and use the Chinese stock market as another Ponzi scheme to attract the money of its own citizens, and for investors. This could loosely be called the “hotel California“ strategy in which domestic and foreign funds can check into the Chinese stock market anytime they want, but they can never never leave.

BYD sales rows dramatically? Really? How many of the 500,000 electric vehicles that BYD claims to have sold are actually sitting in massive parking lots somewhere in the hinterlands of China? Does it make any sense with Chinese economy and labor in such a disarray, that BYD would make such a huge number of sales? to make that many sales they must’ve had to either drop the prices of their cars dramatically or gotten huge government subsidies, so I think it’s incredibly suspect that they are reporting more profit. Tony, I am afraid that this is another example where are you? Are reporting propaganda numbers without any analysis on them whatsoever.
8
Why no penalties for pork firms raising prices? Local sellers of vegetables are heavily penalized for raising prices even a bit, why are pork sellers not being penalized for doing the same thing in a much larger and more dramatic fashion?
8
What will the CCP do to make things worse next? The CCP has been famous over the last 70 to 80 years in pursuing policies that negatively affect the Chinese people. What will they do next to make the lives of Chinese people miserable?
7
Summary: CCP announces detailed scientific plans for resolutely, and bravely waving magic a wand and making all debts disappear!
7
Summary: World tired of CCP behavior. Will CCP throw a military temper tantrum?
7
Summary: CCP celebrates the outstanding unquestionable success of the one child policy!
6
Summary: CCP finance with Chinese characteristics is 1 + 1 = 3. Do you see the absolute genius?
6
Summary: Famous Japanese economist makes completely absurd recommendations for huge new stimulus package in China based on the completely an absolutely false idea that China is merely a larger version of Japan. Apparently, this economist thinks that in China, there is a legal system that people have legal rights that there are real property rights that the government is not a criminal enterprise, etc. It’s amazing that he completely misses the point that the last time China did dramatic stimulus, they ended up with huge infrastructure investments and massive amounts of CCP official corruption. Does he really think that’s gonna change?
6
Infrastructure maintenance burden? Are sufficient funds being allocated and spent wisely for maintenance of all the infrastructure that China has built so frantically? Given the endemic corruption and the frequent occurrence of substandard construction, is the maintenance burden for all of this infrastructure rising and if so is it being funded or ignored?
6
Summary: Tony presents the opinions of several economists who seem to think that China is just a larger version of Japan. These economists seem to think that all they have to do to predict Chinese economic future is to copy and paste Japanese economic past, change the word “Japan “to “China”, and slide the dates forward. Nobel prizes in economics for everyone!
5
Summary: CCP plans to exert more control over the financial sector, which is beset by problems that no one expects the CCP to acknowledge or address.
5
Are there any reliable metrics concerning the quality of the construction of large apartment block housing real estate? Given the poor quality of other types of construction, I wouldn’t be surprised to begin seeing stories of apartment buildings collapsing suddenly with the people inside. One metric I’d be very interested in is how many of these tall towers have functioning elevators at any time? Is the maintenance on elevators being done Who is it should be?
5
Is the new CCP policy of “common prosperity“ a modern version of the old CCP policy of “the iron rice bowl“?
5
When you talk about “food insecurity“, are you referring to a real possibility that a single CCP member will miss a single meal or after forgo a single delicacy? If not, then don’t waste time reporting on “food insecurity“ because the only food insecurity that matters is whether or not a CCP member will go hungry.
5
Summary: At the 10th year BRI forum, CCP leads the singing of “it’s my party, and I will cry if I want to“. Despite all of the Xi Jinping vodka Kool-Aid they could drink, most countries, including Russia, refused to sing along and the Arab oil producing countries refused to give Beijing a special discount on their sweetest of crude.
5
All hail the further centralization of the CCP government and economic planning and science and research! Now we can say with confidence that the CCP has put China on a path for a truly centrally planned economy much like the massively successful Soviet union! Any financial numbers will become more and more estranged from reality. As they should be. Also, control from the very top down to the very grassroots will do wonders for scientific research in China! We can now look forward in all areas of Chinese science two more success is such is the design and construction of the South North water transfer system! All hail the wise and loving centralized leadership of Xi Jinping, and the CCP!
5
Summary: Chinese citizens and international investors and firms express their opinion of the CCP by moving their money out of China as soon as possible every way they can.
5
Summary: Tony (Lord ha ha) expresses concern for ordinary Chinese people, and demonstrates his fundamental lack of understanding that the CCP considers normal Chinese people to be cockroaches and treat them as such. The CCP demonstrates its fundamental lack of understanding of economics as it apparently seriously believes it can reignite the property bubble among normal Chinese people who have lost all faith in real estate as a safe investment option.
5
@raimundomartin5459 Strange question! I see your mistake however - you are confusing the CCP livestock (the non-CCP Chinese people) with actual people in China who receive healthcare (i.e., the CCP). Don't fret!
4
Summary: the CCP economic data is so bad, only because the CCP is so honest! The world leading legal, regulatory, and financial frameworks that the CCP has put in place will enable the CCP economy to triumph over these passing issues and move forward to lead the world! (Warning: excessive laughter can be dangerous for your health!)
4
All hail the leadership of Xi Jinping and the CCP! More poorly conceived, disastrously funded, poorly designed, poorly built, poorly operated, poorly maintained, polluting and lossmaking infrastructure! Thank you Xi Jinping and the CCP! This will be a millstone around the neck of China for decades to come and will blight everything it does going long into the future. All hail the leadership of Xi Jinping and the CCP! The only question is, are the Chinese people committing suicide by letting the CCP rule them?
4
Based on their recent recommendations, why do I get the strong impression that if the year was 1980 Oak tree investments would be urging people to buy real estate on the top of Mount Saint Helens?
4
If you think Hong Kong is bad, you should look at Massachusetts which has about the same amount of population as Hong Kong. In Massachusetts we had weeks where there were more than 100,000 new cases of the omicron variant. Obviously Massachusetts must’ve collapsed under this tremendous catastrophic COVID-19 infection rate! Wait, it didn’t collapse it muddled through and things are fine now. I’m a little skeptical that Hong Kong is going to collapse with only 7000 new cases a day.
4
Air and water pollution control infrastructure? Clean water infrastructure? Are any of the trillions of yuan going to be spent on cleaning up the Chinese environment?
4
Summary: the CCP is surprised and disappointed about the poor research output of their leading universities, especially considering how far in advance of the rest of the world the CCP is in perfecting its great firewall technology, and in filtering out every shred of information that might be dangerous for the Chinese little people to learn.
4
How are you feeling? Now that Xi Jinping is firmly in control, will he turn his wise and loving gaze your way and make certain that you are escorted to the exits for reasons of health?
4
@paulryan5984 Perhaps. But the reaction of the CCP in the past to student movements or religious movements (or protesters demanding the banks give them their money) indicates that the CCP will take far harsher measures.
4
Blackstone? Why aren't you reporting on Blackstone's China real estate investments?
3
Summary: CCP economy, not like western economy! Economists are shocked to learn that the CCP economy, which has no rule of law, no real numbers, all kinds of hidden debt, all kinds of embezzlement and forgery and fraud, is not like a western economy! Duh!
3
Summary: CCP, resolutely proceeds with record-breaking infrastructure embezzlement fund, despite worldwide fears of tofu, drag shortage!
3
Great fake news! Faked remission of COVID-19 based on fake tests done by fake officials using fake test kits and reported in fake fashion is very fake encouraging! All hail the leadership of Xi Jinping and the CCP! Really, I fake mean it!
3
More promises from the CCP? I’m skeptical that mortgage boycotters who are risking their entire futures are going to be satisfied with just more promises of more resolute action from the CCP?!!! I think that the mortgage boycotts are proof that the CCP is losing its ability to terrorize the middle class in China. The Tiananmen Square massacre proved that the CCP could terrorize students and those who wanted democracy. The persecution and wholesale extermination of religious groups and ethnic groups proved that the CCP can terrorize those groups. How will the CCP prove that they can maintain the terror of the middle class?

@tonysu8860 This is not a question of technology. The point is that electric grids in SE Asia and the availability of cheap electric power from natural gas, oil, renewables, or nuclear power is very limited now and will require huge investments to expand. Given that reality, electric power to recharge EV batteries is a fundamental limitation for the sale of EVs in SE Asia now and well into the future. Reporting on the "huge growth" in EV sales from China into SE Asia with the implication that this growth will continue without mentioning these limitations and the fact that future sales are likely to drop as a result is carelessness.
3
@gtw4546 Very good point!
3
Tony, thank you for reporting on this issue based on non-CCP sources! Very brave! Please let us know when you expect to be arrested! Should we expect any more YouTube videos from you?
3
The only real hope of the Chinese people is that the CCP runs out of bullets before the CCP runs out of Chinese people that it needs to shoot in order to stay in power.
