  1. Summary: Tony presents the opinions of several economists who seem to think that China is just a larger version of Japan. These economists seem to think that all they have to do to predict Chinese economic future is to copy and paste Japanese economic past, change the word “Japan “to “China”, and slide the dates forward. Nobel prizes in economics for everyone!

  2.  @Taber01  The fact that they have no vision is not terribly surprising, a few of us do including myself. However, their ability to turn a blind eye to reality is stunning. When Japan had its real estate bubble, and its economy went down, people weren’t being forced to eat, toxic food, breathe, toxic air, drink, toxic water, have all of their communications watched and censored, being under threat of arrest of arrest for espionage at all times, being lied to by the government at every point, having any adverse news deleted, etc. Under those conditions, people could act like rational, economic actors. None of this is true about China.
