  1. People of faith are in politics. In fact, the vast majority of politicians are neither atheists nor even agnostic. But the civil laws of the United States that we all are supposed to obey shouldn't favor the religious traditions and rules of any one faith. I doubt any Christian would want to see Islamic or Hindu or other non-Judaeo-Christian religious commandments established as the law of the land (or even a state or city), so the same applies to Christianity. That's life in a secular society. If you don't like it you are free to leave any time you wish.

  2. Definitely not the bible. 1 Timothy 2:11-12 makes it very clear that “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent”
