  1. The most bizarre - in the whole history of mankind? It's certainly in the top ten, but I suspect plenty of folks would put the Vatican right up there for modern weirdness too. And there is volumes of the odd and unusual from current and historic China, India, and pre-columbian American and pre-colonial African cultures. I think it's fair to say that our whole species is made up of people practicing bizarre behaviors and customs.
