  2. Is that why the Yanks recently passed legislation to substantially increase their domestic production of semiconductors? Or why they are bringing all sorts of industries they had been letting China do for them? The Yanks, and the rest of world, are under no illusion of what the Chinese government can and is doing. China is very powerful and already rival the US for influence and power all around the planet and now even in orbit. It's a hell of an accomplishment in so short a time!. And they know that China isn't limited by the very American weakness of religious dogma interfering with their national social and political processes. Especially not when it comes to violating human rights, bioethics, or any of the other things various interests from either the the Religious Right or the Liberal Left keep from happening in the US that Chinese officials have no problem doing there.
