It's wild how many problems in the US can be traced back to Reagan or were made worse by Reagan and yet how many people still think Reagan was awesome.

@autohmae Sorry, but that was Nixon who nominated Powell to the Supreme Court. Happened in 1971-'72. But your right about how the Powell Memo helped pave the way for Project 2025. Powell was one of the founding fathers of the modern American plutocracy.

@AnJean3tte It's a fair cop, but some good policy happened while Nixon was president. Reagan ruined things in ways Nixon never did.

@Auguur To each their own. I think Nixon being forced out of office and his legacy ruined takes some of the edge off the bad things he did, whereas Reagan continues to be lionized by many Republicans in spite of all the damage done during his time in office. Regardless, I think my original comment still holds true. And from the fact that I've gotten over 2.1K likes in just a few hours (which I'm pretty sure is first for any comment I've ever made) it seems like a lot of people agree with my sentiment. Have a good one.

@hitbyfrozenfire3824 Agreed. Extremes are fine when it comes to entertainment, but I want my politics to be balanced and boring.
