I remember an episode of the original Hawaii Five-0 show back in the 60's and 70's where Steve McGarrett (played by Jack Lord) and his team had chased down the bad guy and Steve shouted for him to surrender. But the bad guy wasn't going easy, so as he turned towards McGarrett what seemed like the entire Hawaii police force opened up on him and unleashed a barrage of gunfire that killed the guy. After which, Steve made some kind of pithy comment to Danno about the shooting and the show ended, cutting to that great theme music and the closing credits. Now that was some must see TV!
