  1. No maybe about it. Unfortunately that FOMO combined with wanting to maximize profits leads many a fund manager down the path to making "egregious ethical lapses." I agree with you that it's terrifying as an individual having to put my faith in the financial judgement of simply fallible humans when my retirement funds are at stake. Knowing there are ones who might be actively running some kind financial scam - I just can't think about it. Shame there aren't more higher yield less risk ways to invest without having to buy into financial schemes that over and over again leave people with a shaft instead of a gold mine.
