Haven't they all perjured themselves before congress? If it turns out I lied during an interview about something important I'd expect to lose my job when the truth was discovered.

The people of the world everywhere deserve better than they usually have on offer for political leadership from any mainstream party. It's tiresome voting for the lesser of two (or more) evils.

The Taliban: we took back Afghanistan! SCOTUS: hold Bart's beer.

They do project. Funny how the party that prides itself on being the tough guys are such easily triggered snowflakes. And when it comes to Tucker, I'm with George Carlin.

I want him to be our president.

What's even more bizarre to me is how they keep doing it generation after generation.

Carlin was and continues to be The Man. He's been gone for how long now and his words are still spot on.

3:40 - to be fair I didn't see or hear any of that. I'm not going to abuse myself by listening to one of old Bankrupt Donny's rambling diatribes while he's cheered on by people who are the definition of deplorable. Gross!

Love people who bust stereotypes

I rally don't need to waste another hour of my time listening to someone I've always known to be a liar and piece of fecal matter. Unfortunately Washington DC is like a porta-toilet at a vegan music festival when comes to people who are pieces of --it.

Loved that line. People in a position of privilege use it all the time with us peasants followed up with a "now begone and bother me no more!"

If only we were all mature enough to do so and not divided up in all the often opposing sets of beliefs and subcultural standards. Many people have a hard enough time being honest with themselves. Many people also probably wouldn't appreciate some other people's honesty, especially if that someone is being brutally honest and/or coming for a very different point of view. But I know what you mean and appreciate the sentiment. High thumb!

@rezelltheblack I take people as individuals and I suspect regardless of Mr McConaughey's fame he'd be an excellent leader of either Texas or the United States. Most politicians are bad actors anyhow. Might as well have a good one give it a try.

If she's from the or associated with the Heritage Foundation I know everything I need to know about Ms Swearer. The grossest people in the US are aligned with the HF.

There are plenty of crap, establishment and corporate democrats out there, but the republican party en masse are a barrel of deplorably bad apples. Is there even one that isn't an example of the worst of us?

@shewolf2671 One of the many differences between the proverbial us and them. It's good to be the king's enforcers.

No sympathy for politicians. Be best!

This is what happens when you let religious zealots become your politicians and decide on your laws. It was also a brilliant way to give the democrats a huge cudgel to beat the right down with and drive voter turnout and to vote blue no matter who. The SCOTUS has just helped decide probably the next two elections, maybe more. Republicans are going to have to figure out even more ways to steal elections now.

"...from the 90's" - a humble legend.

@truth4004 The problem is how religion can be used hatefully by individual people. It depends on your community and its spiritual leader. But it's also very complicated in general. There is a deference and respect given to a priest (etc.) by their congregation and the "Yes Father" and other call and return during a service psychologically re-enforces the message. Sometimes that message isn't very kind or enlightened. And any charismatic leader who can also use scripture to reinforce their message can cause a lot of damage - even make people you thought had common sense say and do things that are nonsense. All the different forms of Christianity often get bundled together as well when talking about religion in the west (the same way people often do with Islam and Judaism) and that makes the holy water even more muddy. And then there are the nuns. Nuns made my mom and two of her other three siblings, all raised in the catholic church and attending catholic school right through high school graduation in a small Ohio town, all decide their children were not going to be raised in the church or attend catholic school. Personally I've settled on being a devout agnostic. God only knows it's the best I can do without a little divine intervention because, nothing personal, I just can't trust any other human being about something as important as my eternal soul (if such a thing even exists).

Republicans are like school during COVID - no class. Ands their brains are like the classrooms - empty and closed.
1
And Taliban-like ignorance. Hey, Afghanistan - hold our beer.

Good job, Georgia. Sending your best.
