  7. While the Democrats could do more for the Black community, it's mostly progressive and liberal Democrats who have done anything for the Black community. And there's the problem of how many Republican's still harbor racist and sexist views about Black people. Not saying it doesn't exist among Democrats as well but to a much lesser degree. There are also significantly more people trying to be allies to all people of color among Democrats than among Republicans. Similarly, it's an obvious fact that it's easier for a Black person, especially a Black woman, to be elected as a Democrat than as a Republican.

  9.  @tomalexander4327  Again, there are probably a lot of reasons why and they are the same reasons people lie about anything. They don't want to be judged, they aren't being honest with themselves, they have to say something to the pollster that doesn't upset other people who can overhear the conversation. Some people just like to play games with other people. I'm sure there are other reasons too, but those are just a few that quickly come to mind.

  16. You might be able to, but plenty of women (and men) can use a little extra help. Of course you should be touching, caressing, kissing licking, squeezing, sucking, and a variety of other words that end in -ing, but lots of couples (and individuals) can benefit from including a vibrator or other toys or lotions into their playbook. I'd argue that 200 bucks for a little something extra I can use to help make my lover happy over and over again is a pretty good investment for a fulfilled relationship.

Gaming Chemistry - Elections for higher office are mostly just a facade for the game being played by the two main parties and the interests that actually shape national policy and run the country. Some good things can be accomplished through ballot measures at the local level, but the elections for the candidates are mostly just a good way for both parties to move around lots of money, for the candidates to get their marching orders and take care of feathering their own nests, and to give the people who choose to play the game a chance to make some noise and feel good about themselves.

Part of what's wild is how voters on the Left call out and even won't vote for Biden and other Dems for their faults even if costs them elections, but the MAGA base refuse to admit to any of the problems with Trump or their candidates. They defend, deflect, and deny anything even remotely wrong that their side says or does and cheer even louder the worse it gets.

  26. Four years later and the repeal of modern Prohibition continues. Hell, I half expect Trump to legalize marijuana just to poke Sessions in the eye and try to push him into resigning. Wouldn't that be a hoot! Wonder how his base would react? I really see it being taken off the Schedule 1 list in the next few years if nothing else so Corporations can get involved and capitalize the fuuuuck out of the canabis market. Now if we can get psilocybin (and a few others) legalized for use in therapeutic settings, we'll be able to start adding the potential of these natural pharmacopeia to help a lot of hurting people.

  30.  @brethartaquino3976  I was trying to be a smartass, but I think it's more likely that the current borders will remain in place and we'll further move to and concentrate in Metropolitan City-States run by corporate councils. The rural and wilderness lands that the corporations aren't exploiting for agriculture and energy and other material production and extraction will be turned over to the nomads, cast-offs, and criminals. As long as the non-conformists stay away from the cities and leave the City-State trade convoys alone the ruling elite will generally be happy to let them savage each other right out of existence. Eventually though, these new Vandals and Goths, Mongols and Huns will come together, storm the gates, and tear the Empire down. And so the wheel turns.

I've been trying to help make it a better place for decades and I honestly thought we were on the right track for a while there, but clearly that just isn't going to happen. And being a straight, white, man makes it a lot easier for me here than many others so there's that. It's also not all that easy to move to a better country like New Zealand or Australia or Canada (except that place gets awfully cold in the winter) without the resources to do it and the ability to obtain a decent paying job there. I'm too old to try being an undocumented migrant.
