  1. The biggest problem with charity is all the grift. Even among the "legitimate" organizations it seems like we always find the disheartening reality about how much of the donations end up gpoing to adminstartive costs and not the cause they are supposed to be helpping. To prarphrase what someone else said in another comment, charity begins at home. I'm not a celebrity or person of means and my fanancial state has never been one where I could be of much help. But when I can I'm going to help family, friends, and my neighbors before sending what little help I can to a faceless organization.
