  1. That first story - should have included a more context about the way the Apache and other tribal people were treated by the US military and settlers to help understand why they responded the way the did. White captives were treated much better in many cases than the other way around.

  2. He was young enough that he was made a part of the tribe. Life was hard for all the Apache with the way they were treated by US forces and settlers.
