I'm going to have to remember all these posts the next time I hear people talking about people, especially young people needing to be forgiven for their mistakes. I get that this is bigger than the vast majority of mistakes people make, but those are when we find out what kind of people we are - am I big enough to forgive the worst in someone? I'm usually not and would be right alongside most people who couldn't forgive him either, but I'm not sure revoking his citizenship and keeping him out of the country is the right choice. It might be more effective to have him come back but serve life in prison and only be allowed visits to schools to warn other young people about the dangers of radicalization and recruitment by terrorists. If anything this all just makes him that much more of a celebrity.
