Like life for Arab Americans and migrants would be better with a Republican in charge of the White House, Congress or their local politics, especially a Trump or some other Islamophobic conservative Evangelical politician. As flawed and imperfect as they are, not supporting the Democrats is a great way to make sure the Arab American community has even less of a voice in politics. But at least they'll have their principles.

It can be argued that by having not actively spoken out against or fighting our governments and leaders about support for one side or the other, whether that be generally by people in the West or by the people who live in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel and other Middle Eastern countries (probably the rest of the world really except for primitive tribal people in places like the Amazon), we are all tacitly enabling the political situation and violence between Israel and Palestine to continue. In realty there isn't much you or I can do about it, but that's by choice and our decision to spend our time and energy focusing on other things. But by just posting on social media then people really are doing just about the least they possibly can without ignoring the situation entirely. Having "blood on their hands" is hyperbolic jingoism, but that's also people for you - especially politicians.

My apologies but I have to disagree as it depends on which history is being talked about. Just the recent history since the founding of the modern state of Israel (which has it's own set of narratives, prejudices and complications from all sides involved) or the thousands of years of history from before that? In my opinion I've noticed that people who say that a situation isn't complicated are usually minimizing the reality of a situation and often are trying to convince others of their own narrative and agenda. Very few things in life are uncomplicated when they effect entire nations or regions of people over generations of history regardless whether that history is a few decades, several centuries or millennia of time - especially in the Middle East and especially when it comes to anything having to do with Jewish people.

If you don't understand that what Hamas did on October 7th was worse than what Israel has done before or since that day then I'm glad I don't know you. The attacks on Gaza by Israel have had horrific consequences for the civilian population because of how Hamas embeds in the population and has influence over the Palestinians, controlling the movement of people living in Gaza and stockpiling food, water, fuel and other supplies the people there need. I'm not saying that the politics and policies of Netanyahu's government and hardliners before him as well as Illegal settlements in the West Bank that steal the land of Palestinians doesn't drive the problems too, but what Hamas did on October 7th was barbaric and savage in a way that stands apart of from anything else.

What a silly and minimizing comment. The modern state of Israel has a great many benefits both economic and geopolitical for the Western nations not the least of which is as a home for Israelis where they should be safe from ever facing a holocaust like they suffered in World War 2. Look at how you don't even mention the fact of how the Arab world uses the Palestinians as a tool to keep hammering at Israel and trying to tear down what they have built. Is Israel imperfect and do the illegal West Bank settlements need to stop and the hard line government of Netanyahu and his supporters not be in power? In my opinion and that of many Israelis absolutely. But you sound like you think Israel is a blight on the world and should be eliminated which makes you sound like a jihadi supporter of Hamas or some other Islamic terrorist group calling for the destruction of Israel. Even without the driving the Jews into the sea part is that what you want? Don't even bother replying since I won't even waste my time reading it.

Posting the same comment twice? That's called spamming the site and it's gross. Besides, Hamas has proven itself to be liars during this conflict in particular so yeah, question everything they have to say.

That's silly. The democrats are a better choice than any Republican who will be running. Regardless of who their candidate will be this is 2020 all over again "Biden sucks - vote Biden".
