I could only take about 23 minutes of this.

When it breaks they'll have an even better reason to let some megacorp of wealthy international investors come in, rebuild the structure, and charge us a hefty users fee for the next few decades. It's all part of the Cyberpunking of America.
2
Western culture and society was doing a fine job of dragging itself down long before the United States got in to the mix. The rest of the original members of the cast still have plenty of influence over the continued slide towards our next Dark Ages.
2
I expect nothing less from a southern secessionist state that elects people like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. Couldn't pay me to live there with the white trash running the state -- and my company would let me relocate and work remotely from there.

"bite sports" - don't we teach our kids that biting is bad? So how can it be a sport? Way to be part of the problem.
2
@x941bri_ It's all fun and games until someone you love gets mauled by a dog that's been bred to bite as you put it. Funny thing Is I was just arguing against the outlawing of "Bully Breeds" that's happening in the UK. You're email is making me reconsider my position on that. Good job.

4:36 - Citations for scavenging and contact - contact? And a bunch for an unknown offense - 🤨😖😞

Poverty...Poverty never changes.
2
Drought going on all through the West. There's lots of videos about The Colorado River running low and lakes drying up.
2
Appreciate the introduction of a new word to my vocabulary. And one even more accurate than other versions of -ocracy.

I think most people would agree with you that it's silly to think that at least someone in Marfa wouldn't contract Corona somehow, but by closing down the town to tourists they certainly would have decreased their chances of exposure. The problem is the hypocrisy of the state government stepping in and preventing the city from being independent when Texas has always been all about being independent to go its own way and be it's own culture.
2
I know I shouldn't judge, especially from my safe home in my country that isn't being bombed, but here I go anyhow. If her parents have no where else to go I can see staying, but the whole "this is our city so we're not leaving" thing they said also made me sad and a little mad. There's no shame in taking their child somewhere that isn't being bombed even if it means becoming a refugee in another country like many other Ukrainians have done. I think it's better to leave and live so you can come back to rebuild once the fighting stops. Everything about this nightmare save the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people is heartbreaking.

@finalform11 Two legitimate examples of when a semiautomatic firearm is preferable to a bolt-action rifle would be if you are trying to kill a herd of feral pigs that are destroying the crops in your field or a pack of coyotes or dogs attacking your livestock. You can laugh at this answer but these are real problems for farmers and ranchers. Regardless of whether they are 12 or 21 of 50 the vast majority of them are trained on how to use and respect a firearm be a single shot .22, a bolt action 30-06, or any of the wide-variety of semi-automatic pistols or rifles. There are so many makes and models of semi-automatic firearms going back over a hundred years that trying to ban and/or remove them all isn't feasible. It would be like if you were having trouble with high-end sports cars being driven too fast so you made laws effecting all vehicles with a manually shifted transmission ever made. I'd also like to point out that having an assault weapons ban didn't stop the Columbine school massacre or any of the other mass shootings that occurred between 1994 and 2004. We can make changes to gun laws around the edges of things like raising the age to purchase, reducing magazine size, or even banning the sale of certain firearms and we'll see varying degrees of compliance - more so in the liberal urban parts of the country, but you can forget about this happening in the conservative and rural parts of the country because in the country a semi-automatic firearm is both a useful tool and a damn good time.

The cops in Minneapolis (and so many more places) just can't stop being the problem. It's like they want us to hate them and see them as the enemy. Well, if that's what they really want...
2
The War on Drugs was always just another front of the War on Poor People.
2
Both in moderation are wonderful things. Unfortunately lots of us are crap at doing things in moderation.

There is an old comic series called the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and one of the running gags is their war with the roaches that infest the kitchen. The Roach King often uses the phrase "there are plenty more where they came from" as his roach subjects die for one reason or another. Many politicians, especially those from the conservative mean-girl tribe, remind me of the Roach King.

Self identifying as a fascist. At least he's honest about it.

@tre.jluster2574 No, I'm flexible. Let's put a system in place that everyone pays into on a sliding scale and everyone can use and not have to worry about being bankrupted or harnessed with a lifelong debt. If people want to then pay into a private hospital system in addition to a robustly funded, staffed, and maintained public system that's okay, just no fiscally opting out of the public program.

If I'd had a daughter or a gay or trans child of any gender I wouldn't tell them they couldn't serve but I'd beg them not to.
1
People love a good conspiracy

So if they don't want to be United States citizens why are they here? There are a lot of other people who would be happy to be U.S. citizens. I'd say send them to Gitmo but that's way too close. Tierra del Fuego maybe.
1
Crested Butte? Crested Butte was never a place for poor people.

I have no respect for old Bankrupt Donny, and while I don't respect their beliefs or actions I do respect the Taliban fighters tenacity. They basically beat all three of the last U.S. presidents and they beat the old Soviet Union forces before that. All of them are no longer in power but the Taliban is still there. That being said, the Taliban is largely made up of a whole new set of jihadists since western forces killed of so many of the old ones in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Apparently from many of the comments to this video and the people saying it's bad (and online in general - the crazy on AOL even with moderation is a trip) we are still surrounded people who have only the thinnest veneer of being civilized or who are outright faking it. We put on airs and dress up nice but there are a lot of barbarians out there just barely holding back. I'm starting to think maybe I need a dog! Can't have a dog-shaft gap now can we?
1
@ALotOfCancer Seems simple to me. We teach our children not to bite. We train our pets not to bite. We say it's poor sportsmanship or disqualifying if someone bites someone else during a professional fight or other contact sport. Civilized people think making animals bite and fight each other is immoral and wrong. It's only when we get to the dirtiest kinds of uncivilized street fighting or when you are defending your life that biting begins to become acceptable. And even in the dirtiest fight biting isn't a go-to move for most people because it escalates even an uncivilized event into something truly awful. Which I'm sure is part of the intent with the use of attack dogs - such a gross thing to do and try to defend.

Say what you want about the problems in the US and we still have plenty of them, physical and sexual violence against women (as well trans people and children) is a lot worse in much of the rest of the world. Countries all across Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East are all very dangerous places to be anything but a man.

Graveyard of Empires. Looks like China is going to give it a shot next. Zhù nǐ hǎo yùn, China!
1
So they get rid of Saddam just to have these guys take over - greaaaat. The horror show never ends.
1
Another scene from the multi-car pile-up of our modern age.
1
One hell of a scam, eh? Imagine if we'd put all that money, or even only 10 or 20% of it, into rebuilding U.S. infrastructure and bringing real hope and change while actually doing things that really would have helped make America great again. Instead we just got empty words on bumper stickers and red hats.
1
@zorbaz3940 Absoultely! As much as was spent we probably could have done yours and mine and still had money left over.
1
@zorbaz3940 Cool.
1
Just another example of White Privilege.

<Donald Trump has entered the chat> SEE, I TOLD YOU ALL - BEAUTIFUL BLEACH! (FFS)

China and it's owner class is not our friends. But the rich aren't anyone's friend.
1
US, China, or any of the dozens other countries on every continent of the planet, all with their own kinds of repression and authoritarian rule. If not directly then guilty by association and complicit by capitulation. Plenty of shame to go around.
1
Let's see how China fares. Maybe they'll have better luck - as long as the Taliban doesn't mind the way China treats the Uyghurs.
1
@quiasnoorzad Not the world police. I just want to see if the Taliban is okay doing business with a country that treats its Muslim population the way China does. I'd hope they wouldn't tolerate the mistreatment of Muslims anywhere but we'll see.
1
Dude - catch up. Hillary is a loser who made a national embarrassment out of herself. No one cares.
1
Arkansas is pretty much the worst place in America period. Hell, it's so pathetic that it couldn't even come up with its own state name and had to reuse Kansas. And Billy Boy is from there so that just shows what trash comes out of the state.
1
One of the only things I ever agreed with Ronnie Ray-Gun about was that if aliens, especially a hostile invasion of them, suddenly showed up it might be the one thing that would finally help unify everyone around the world. Of course, it is possible they're already here and have been for a very long time. It's called the October Surprise because there seems to usually be one. It would be a trip if if some of the the Dulce Base stories are real.
1
It'll be more like how the British Empire fell.
1
@ShawnJonesHellion Well, this was two years ago so maybe can tell me, how much went to preventing heroin overdoses and how was that money spent?
1
They want to Make Spain Great Again. Freaking fascists the world over.
1
Wonder how the CIA or DEA or other shadowy 3-lettered organization is involved in all of this.
1
@DeAlexon12 How do you play tug of war your dog? I'm guessing you use some kind of chew toy. People shouldn't be used as a chew toy. Weaponizing animals is gross.
1
@DeAlexon12 You'd only be partly right - I don't currently have a dog. It's just me and I can't devote enough time to properly care for a dog. But I grew up up with dogs and have been around them as an adult and will probably have one again after I'm retired. I love dogs and I hate seeing them used as a weapon. I understand what you are saying about play and rough-housing. That's fine, but biting as never something we encouraged in any of our dogs and actively discouraged if it gets too rough. There's a reason they have chew toys and bones. The idea of biting ever being considered a sport is, to me, just gross. And thank you for using the example of boxing (you fell into my trap moo-ha-ha! - JK 😀). I don't know who the greatest boxer is but Mike Tyson is certainly one of them. Sadly, he'll probably always be remembered as that dude who chewed the other dudes ear off when he fought Holyfield in '97. There's no crying in baseball and not supposed to be any biting in boxing or other combat and contact sports. The only time biting is okay is as a last ditch defense move if your life is on the line - or as retaliation is you're being bitten.

@stevegrydzyn6038 2:57 There were apparently ads put in the paper that this was going to happen but it was then "quietly scaled back" so it sounds like there actually was something in writing that was later reneged upon. While It would have been helpful to see one of those ads, I also don't have a huge amount of faith in any billionaire but especially one from a country that is not anyone's ally. This whole thing sounds like a publicity stunt that back fired.
1
@bogusmcbogus2637 Pretty low bar there, McBogus. These boys were there pulling the same crap Matt Walsh pulls about gender versus biological sex identification over here. They were there to be provocative and at the first opportunity act like the chodes they showed themselves to be, not have a civil conversation. And I don't know about you but I could usually do with a shower because I do stuff that makes me sweat and stink, so not all that uncivil of a request if you want your girlfriend to be happy so she'll make you happy.
