  1. China as a role model? That's just precious. From the generational tragedy that was the One Child Policy and the massacre at Tiananmen Square to the current jingoism about Taiwan and Uighurs along with a host of other issues, China has its own national failings to mind.

  2. Why are you focusing on the Democrats? It's the Republicans who are bought by the NRA and are stopping gun control and mental health care legislation. They are also the crowd who point out that all the gun violence happens in Democrat run big cities (except when it doesn't).

Firearm AND AMMUNITION legislation and licensing, increased access to expanded mental health services, holding the firearm manufacturers and dealers, and parents if the shooter is underage, criminally and civilly responsible after an incident, and every week there needs to be gun buyback programs in place to get guns off the streets and out of the private sales or ilegal transfers. But with as much glorification of violence as we have in cultures around the world combined with ever increasingly advanced and simple to use technological tools, even without guns people who want to do a lot of damage and rack up a big body count will devise some other weapon to do that. We're in a very dangerous era and it's only going to get worse.
