The UN has it's own long and sordid history of the troops it sends to conflict zones committing all sorts of sexually based offenses against the people they were supposed to be protecting. Sexual violence by the strong against the weak is much too common throughout the world, and both the act and the covering up, justifying, or ignoring of it is one of our greatest and most deplorable failings as a supposedly advanced and moral species.
