  1. Same in Colorado - sometimes worse. Look for the story about the trashed house in Colorado Springs that got numerous 500K+ offers once the seller could finally get the old occupant out and put it on the market. It's a big house, but there's going to be lots of costs to rebuild large parts of it.

  2. I'm going to have to move somewhere I don't really want to live if I'm ever going to have a hope of buying a home, and rent anywhere is obscene! The only other option I can think of is going semi- or full nomad.
