We need to end the war on drugs entirely so we can better study the benefits of a variety of psychedelics used in both clinical therapeutic techniques and shamanistic guidance to help treat PTSD and other anxiety and depressive disorders. Addiction, regardless of the substance, needs treatment as a health problem, not a criminal offense. Address and treat the underlying physical or emotional trauma and you'll be treating the addiction at the same time. Incarceration is not therapy.
