Or the person who sold them a bus ticket? And what if the person finds someone online who they can get a ride with but they say it's to go see a concert or visit someone? I'd say this law wouldn't work but with the way Republicans packed the courts over the past few decades who knows anymore.

Or smoke a joint in most other states?

Seems like Idaho has been trying to out-Florida Florida with the politics. Good thing y'all don't have alligators up there.

With zero tolerance and probably some kind of financial compensation for anyone willing to provide testimony against the violators. Then they will be locked away in some for-profit prison with violent criminals, non-violent drug offenders, and people with mental health problems. And they'll probably have to stay there for decades while the serial sex offenders who actually get convicted will be released in a few months or years at most.

Or a brother, cousin, uncle, or grandfather. Some estimates are that half of child molesters are trusted people known to the family (clergy, teachers, medical providers, etc), but family members account for between 30 to 40 percent of the remaining cases. These zealots don't want to acknowledge that problem. But if they did they would probably say something about how it's all part of God's plan or some other nonsense.

Lawmakers in Idaho watched the episode of Accused where the teacher took a student to from Texas to New Mexico to get an abortion.

I don't - these people are nuts and want nothing more than to make object lessons out of us sinners.

Then the parents would probably be facing charges along with whoever provided transportation or other aid and assistance to the minors.

@zombiechaddy I know what the Republican party line is about this being a parents rights issues and how "A parent absolutely still has the right to take their child across the border and get an abortion. The parent still has the right to cede that power and authority to someone else, such as a grandparent or an aunt, to take that child, should they be pregnant, across the border and get an abortion." (Rep. Barbara Ehardt (R)–Idaho Falls). But if you believe anything a Republican has to say when it comes to being moderate on the topic of abortion or that it should be a states rights issue then I'll make you a limited-time offer on this amazing bridge you absolutely can't let pass by! Maybe further criminalizing abortion isn't the Idaho Republican stated goal with this specific bill or for this legislative session. But regardless of the parties ideology there's always the next legislative session to push whatever their agenda is just a little bit further. For the Republican party one of the main things on that agenda after the SCOTUS ending Roe is establishing a nationwide abortion ban - or at least making it as difficult as they possibly can to have one.

"Innocent till proven guilty" is like everything else about the US. It applies to rich, white, male landowners. The rest of us have always been meat for the grinder.

@jasonanderson7458 There you go. Absurd law proposed by absurd people. I'm grateful someone introduced me to the word 'kakistocracy' a while back. It's more and more appropriate with every new day.
