  1. This line from 1:13 is absolutely true. I see it in both myself and other people who went through traumatic childhoods when that damaged part of us gets triggered by something. And that thing Joe goes on to describe about "auditioning for things" - that's not just actors, that's the daily life of every damn near every person on the planet. Putting on masks to impress others, be they true or false, might be one of the few universal characteristics of our species (or as universal as nearly 8 billion individuals can ever be).
